Just wanted to give a big shout out of thanks to member QBALL here on the forums. I met him at the PAC West Airgun Show last weekend for the first time, and had a memorable lunch with him. Leading up to this event I had told him about my two Delta Stryker scopes set up on my target guns, and I was lacking a focus wheel. I thought I could get by without one, but the range to focus crystal clear at 100 to the point I’m reading fine print on the target required such fine, tiny movement on the focus knob. We talked about how a wheel vs a knob style would be better overall. So last weekend I handed him my scope to come up with the design.
I am a big fan of the BLADE series of the Daywalker, and always liked those boom a rang type of throw knives he used. So I sent a pic of BLADE’s throw knife, and asked if he could make the inner spoke in the curbed blade design vs boring @$$ spokes.
He texted me Sunday night with pics, and said he was done.
I truly love my Delta Stryker HD 5-50 x 56 scopes. The one negative I have had with them is the removal of the windage turret to reset to zero. There isn’t enough material protruding out past the turret cap to grab onto, and my numb fingers leaves me feeling like an urangutang trying to pop a zit. So I drew up a finger drawn sketch of a clamp idea, to see if maybe, just maybe, QBALL could come up with something. So this was the idea-
, but man oh man his own idea was even better. The clamp self tightens as a friction fit, so no finger pressure required to squeeze on the turret cap-
Those of you that own DS with this type of turret cap removal system know what I’m talking about, what a bear they can be to remove, especially if the scope is new!
So here are the focus wheels. One of my Impacts sports a red/black “Chicago Bull” theme, so a hint of red went into that wheel, while my Silver/Black(the Silver Surfer is it’s name) was done in all black. The Blade design inner core came out perfect!
Focusing the parallax will be so much easier, and it also gives me the opportunity to add yardage stickers on the perimeter of the wheel for easy visual if need be.
Thanks again Mr Qball! Great job, and now my scopes are complete as far as required accessories.
