This is what and Airgun should look like and weigh…IMO, what do you think? I just added pictures that show the process if you’re interested.

Beautiful wood! I love the stock from the pistol grip to the rear. Very classy “classic style” lines. The fore grip of the stock seems to end rather abruptly for my taste. I’d love to see it a couple inches longer. BUT… that’s my taste and I’m sure you designed it for you and that’s what matters most. Awesome job.

Have you thought about dropping the scope lower? Looks awfully high. Gorgeous gun regardless.
I actually like a high scope, I shot Field Target for years and it necessitates having a high scope. That said, I never intended to keep that scope on the rifle. That was just for long range testing.

The trigger guard does not match the lines of the gun, but otherwise it is is indeed what a gun should look like.
Agreed! When the trigger isn’t caulked, it pushes way down, I needed a big trigger guard to accommodate it.

I would love to find a strip of blued steal that I could bend the shape I like.

This was by far and away the most difficult project I’ve ever taken on. I’ve finished stocks, refinished stocks bedded stocks, modified stocks you name it.

I’ve looked at these two pieces so many times and every time I pull them out I say the heck with it. I decided to do this for myself for a Christmas present.

I fitted a piece of Koa in, to fill the magazine cover. I used Koa because it’s so darn hard. I Devconed it to the stock.

Then I had to open it up for all the mechanisms as you can see. It really didn’t fit all that well but I’m good with the end product. In fact I may make another one.

I had five of these stocks left over from another project, the guy who sold them to me screwed me so they’ve been just sitting there for 10+ years.

At least I found a use for a couple of them.
