This scope BETTER be good

I no longer push Barra because I don't think they will honor their lifetime warranty so I quit pushing the brand and that dealer from EBay. 

I even posted willing to buy Barra scopes on the classifieds since I do feel bad pushing it and am willing to eat it.

I confess!!! I am guilty of buying two more Barra scopes just last week but sure as hell ain't pushing Barra no more.

Just got the taste of superb Barra clarity and am kinda addicted to $200-$250 Japan scopes that retail for $700-$1000 that's all.

Here's another heads up. How can I be affiliated with everyone? I promote good deals and values that's all. Even Hawke and Athlon if they are priced right.

I figured this was going to be your response. I have NEVER seen you promote one site/brand/etc. In fact, although I don't agree with you, I've often heard you tell us to buy $20,000 of scopes and return what we don't like. That never sounded like a ***** to me...

I don't feel compelled to purchase anything just because another member likes a certain product, but it sure helps when I do want to make a purchase and somebody points me to a deal. Thanks.

I went with this guy. I think he's legit. He sells from his home. I have a similar business in the guitar industry.

Today he has a sale for 15% 0ff using the code 2021. I got this scope for $178.00 

If you some reason it doesn't workout my bank has my back.

The Alpha 6 showed up today. It does have clear bright glass and it’s usable up to 27x just as Odoyle stated. I really liked the reticle too, wasn’t too thin or thick and the illumination didn't wash out the lens like some others I have used. Here is the bad...I’m returning it. I couldn’t get the parallax adjusted. When the scope was clear my parallax was off. When I had the parallax set to where the reticle didn’t move around, my target at 42 yards was extremely blurry. I have a barn approximately 1,000 yards from my back deck. To get the scope clear the parallax needed to be set to 200 yards which I thought was also kind of odd. Anything more was extremely blurry so it appears to have left the factory out of spec. I probably just received a bad one and the more I think about it now the packing looked kind of odd, like someone had opened and returned it. Anyway it’s going back and I will wait for some time before ordering another one in case there was a bad batch from the factory.

You need to adjust your eyepiece believe it or not. Have the reticle sharpness secondary priority when first adjusting clarity at distance then fine tune ocular for reticle within acceptability.

Whatever you think you know about scopes Just erase it toss out the window and use that ocular them fine tune the side focus.

or think just like guns with 2 trigger screw adjustments that greatly affect each other.

The parallax marking doesn't always line up to actual yards even some of my high end scopes have to max the infinity to see past 300 yards. I wouldn't even worry about it.

If it wasn't sealed with the 2 sticker dots and inside plastic appeared tampered it might have been a defective return because brand new is supposed to be brand new untouched.

Try the ocular as I pointed out then try again it's a different kind of scope unlike what you are used to.

My first go with it it wasn't as clear as my NEW HAWKE Sidewinder 6-24x50 then I fiddled with it then it's clearer than the Hawke at 1/3 the price.

If after following my instructions and it's for sure defective have the seller send return label or request it and a replacement specify yours looked open box used and defective. I have a lot of them and paid higher price than you and so far none experienced what you describe but I know how to use the eyepiece to get it perfect that's unlike traditional methods.

It wasn’t sealed with two dots. There was only clear packing tape on the box and the box looked kind of rough for a new scope box. It was wrapped in white plastic only, no outer box was used so I thought that might have been the cause of the boxes condition. I really think someone returned this scope, some of the packing material was just crammed in the box. I actually did lap the rings, I have a wheeler ultra scope mounting kit and always check alignment and lap before mounting although I know most people don’t do this.

It took me a few minutes to understand what you were saying about the diopter. I did some research and now understand what you are talking about. I’m going to explain it myself to hopefully put more detail on the subject in case someone has the same issues. Some scopes have a huge sweet spot on the diopter depending on your eyesight. It is adjusting properly but in very small increments to the point were you think you have it adjusted correctly but it’s not because your eye is focusing and correcting the reticle to a sharp image. The fix is to focus on a target and adjust the parallax until it’s completely removed, the reticle will remain on target when you move your head around the scope’s eye box. It might not be focused at this point but the key is to remove the parallax, not focus the scope. Then adjust the diopter to a clear image and sharp reticle. It is now correctly adjusted and you shouldn’t need to change the diopter again unless your vision changes. Apparently some of the Schmidt and Bender scopes are like this and it comes up often with them. You can add to this if you like, I tried to make my explanation simple to understand. I will try this later when I have some time and let you know the outcome.
