Thomas Air Thomas HPX O-ring replacement

@reiffra945 and I just posted a video of our experience replacing the O-rings in my Thomas HPX. There wasn’t a lot of info out there on how to do this so hopefully this video may help other owners. BTW we are not experienced at doing this nor are we airsmiths nor do we even play one on TV.

I made one major mistake of NOT measuring the reg pressure BEFORE disassembling the reg. Had I done this first I would have saved a LOT of time as well as trial and error to get the reg back to the OEM setting.

Let me make note .... The TI threads of air tube as well the aluminum end caps need to be SURGICALLY CLEAN as in not wiped clean but sprayed and blown off lint free clean !!!

Just a heads up that tungsten disulfide works well to prevent galling of the threads.

Good stuff to have for multiple uses...also works well for lubing the hammer and its runway, trigger parts, etc.

Thank you for noting that. I sprayed the threaded connections with brake cleaner and followed up with compressed air.

I wasn't aware of Thomas using Huma regs in their guns. Interesting. Cool to see how they are put together.

Dry, but a good way of doing it is mix the WS2 powder 50/50 with alcohol in an eye drop bottle. Applied to threads, the suspension flows out very nicely into the threads and then the alcohol quickly evaporates. No mess, no waste.

Shake well before each use.
