I posted on the Facebook page a couple of days ago.@ThorMolds ...where are youuuuu...yooooohooooo
Although another step and expense, you could try a NOE resize die. Take a .305 and polish it up a few .0001@Ta-Ta Toothie No Complaints here either, slugs have been consistent. Only complaint was die was too large. The Vulcan 3 was supposed to be .3063 but mine actually is .3055, I slugged my barrel. Stupid me should have done that first before ordering the press so that is why the slugs are so damn tight. As long as I shoot light slugs the breach closes ok but I do like shooting 65gn slugs for more penetration on coyotes but haven't seen a damn coyote forever so no biggie. Closing the breach on a 65gn slug is way too hard, afraid I'll bend the probe so lighter slugs it is. They still group great. Here's what I'm shooting now ...54gn

I was just wondering why he wasn’t using one instead of forcing oversized slugs into the breech. Good suggestion.Although another step and expense, you could try a NOE resize die. Take a .305 and polish it up a few .0001

Not hard to close breach with light slugs, talked to a machine shop near me and they said they can do a custom die for me. I'd rather pay for a new die then the extra steps and time for resizing but thanks for the ideasI was just wondering why he wasn’t using one instead of forcing oversized slugs into the breech. Good suggestion.
I'm totally new to using press. When you resize have you seen any negative effects on accuracy? Does it distort the slug at all?I have a handful of .216 and .217 from NOE that I polished up to different sizes. Works very well and I'm not stuck with just one size slug.
Could have asked me instead of Ta-Ta-ToothieI was just wondering why he wasn’t using one instead of forcing oversized slugs into the breech. Good suggestion.
Nope, the most I taken out is .0008. I would supposed if you tried to size more than maybe, .0015 or more that may be an issue. Baby steps I think is key.I'm totally new to using press. When you resize have you seen any negative effects on accuracy? Does it distort the slug at all?
So I was looking at the NOE site, I would need more than the bushing and press. I would need a few other things like https://noebulletmolds.com/site/sho...ough-size-die/001-push-through-size-die-body/Get a used reloading press if you don't already have one.
Yes you would. I was showing the bushing. So I was looking at the NOE site, I would need more than the bushing and press. I would need a few other things like https://noebulletmolds.com/site/sho...ough-size-die/001-push-through-size-die-body/
Just contacted NOE, they're putting together list of everything I'll need. Thanks for the suggestion.Get a used reloading press if you don't already have one.
