Thoughts on a pistol for EFT

If doing raw I would use the TM1000 pistol that is already setup for AAFTA and EFT. The eft pistol matches I shoot have the same rules as far as pistol size. And limited to 20fpe.
I'm well aware of the TM1000, but it's built specifically for PFT/EFT. I prefer shooting with a magazine and the HM1000x Mini can be a more versatile platform useful for other purposes. My only concern is whether it would meet the rules dimensionally.

That 3 inch rule makes no sense at all. If that dimension were much larger, that would make the gun top heavy and more unstable. Who would want a gun more difficult to control? Rule makers need to reduce their Heineken consumption when drafting these things, IMHO.

You should have put that IMHO closing first in your post in order to avoid the individual most responsible for all pistol FT rules informing you you're wrong. The 3" rule makes more sense than some other PFT rules; which is to say SOME sense.

But since you were excluded from the many months of rules-making process required to arrive at pistol rules to submit to the BoG for adoption consideration, your ignorance is somewhat excusable. I forgive you.

By the way, I never developed a taste for beer. MUCH LESS, Heineken.🤮

So tell me wise guru, if that dimension is more than 3 inches, how will it be of any advantage or disadvantage. The things being used for pistols hardly meet the conception of the term. Barrel length, overall length, power levels all make sense, but 3 inches from the barrel C/L to the bottom of the front of the gun? WTF? Why not limit the bolt handle length while you're at it. I'm trying to understand the logic of the rule makers.

Personally, I like bourbon better, IMHO.

No, I'm not going to bother to explain it. However I will gift you with a clue.

I have explained MANY times on this forum not only how the Pistol Field Target rules were born and the reasoning behind several that have been questioned, but also how Pistol Field Target competition was born. So rather than waste more time repeating myself again, I'll shift the onus of educating yourself to you.

Another clue- the search feature is your friend. You're welcome.

I am kind of confused. I do not shoot pistol but it seems like a 20 FPE for extreme field Target is just barely enough. Am I missing something?

Currently I only shoot HFT pistol and I do so because it is HARD!
That said I’m still on the hunt for the perfect HFT pistol scope
