Thoughts on Primary Arms 22LR ACSS scope?

Thoughts on this Primary Arms scope? I will probably continue to do most of my shooting at 50 yards or less with rare exception.

This is their only scope built around this reticle - this and the considerably less expensive previous generation, non-illuminated one with a 3-year warranty as opposed to lifetime for its pricier brother. They suggest zeroing on 25 yards with a shorter barrel and at 50 yards with a longer one.

Price seems decent at $289 with lifetime warranty.

According the Q&A on Amazon the parallax is fixed at 100 yards. This may or may not be a problem for you but I would likely rule it out for that reason.

If you're looking for a 1-6 scope and close range parallax adjustment interests you then the only one I know of (other than the expensive options from March) is the Styrka 1-6x24. Unfortunately this only comes with the most basic cross hair reticle. It can be had for around $200 on Amazon. It's much more expensive than other online retailers so I'd be sure there aren't more than one model.

There is a cheap Ali Express 2-7x24 with adjustable parallax. Fire Hawk or something like that. Another AGN member has one on order.

Sticking with the theme, the Athlon 1-4.5x 24 scope comes in an adjustable parallax version but I'd want more than 4.5x for 50 yards. Plus I don't recall what reticle options it comes with. I think it's a $400 scope.

Some scopes can have the fixed parallax adjusted. If you like the reticle on the Primary Arms scope I'd email the company and inquire about that.

I've shot a few Primary Arms scopes on friends guns and the glass was low end quality. Not terrible, but not good either. You could get better glass and AO from Sniper out of Texas Ohunt or UTG for less than $150. I like a bit more than 6x zoom, but you should shoot what you like. I don't see that one on Amazon on multiple searches, even at the Primary Arms store on Amazon. Can you send me a link please? That would definitely be a deal breaker. It's really strange, though, as their materials suggest zeroing in at 25 yards or 50 yards. Oddly enough, Primary's own website neglects to mention parallax, which is not mentioned in their manual either. Methinks perhaps something fishy is going on?

Bummer. Joe "Cyclops" Rhea seems to love them, but then again he is a fan of Hawkes Vantage line, which I just saw getting pretty trashed here today from a resurrected old thread. It's all very confusing when people have such varied opinions and half of them are probably sponsored.

As to what I like, I'm not really settled on that yet. Trying to turn over the options in my mind, coming from never having fired a scope before in my life before mid-August. I don't see myself shooting out as far as many of the people I admire here and on youtube, but I do feel that 6x is not all that much for my old eyes.

I have the Bushnell AR 2-7x and 3-9x and they have 10 yards and under side focus with decent glass. They arent illuminated though. You could try the Aims Alpha 1-6 which is illuminated with CQB type holdover thats clear even at close airgun shooting distances or the 2.5-15x50 version with 10 yard side focus. Save money both daytime visible illumination and are extremely bright and clear scopes from minimum power all the way to maximum zoom power.

I have the UTG 1-8x kinda sucky for the price.

Normally I take answers on Amazon with skepticism but in this case the question was answered by the seller who is listed as Primary Arms.

There is an illuminated version of the Styrka I mentioned earlier. I think it's around $300 on Amazon. But it's just a basic illuminated cross hair reticle. No hold-over/under points.

The Sniper scope linked earlier looks interesting. That and another model caught my eye a while ago but I was growing tired of buying inexpensive scopes that weren't working out. I'd rather just buy once and cry once but I don't think I have enough tears stored up to spring for a March. And I do want an inexpensive scope for my P-rod which is my loaner airgun.

I see "Cyclops" getting super excited over SWFA scopes. They are damned pricey compared to the level of scopes we are talking about. But he says they are incredibly tough and should be going for twice their price. When I get into my "buy once cry once???" mode, I am starting to look through their site. They've got a big sale going on too. But most of the stuff on sale is still north of 500 bucks.

The Nikon Rimfire with MOA reticle would suit your needs but it is without illumination though:

It was on sale for quite a while (around $150) and some airgunners actually bought some, as the parallax setting is only 50 yards to infinity.
