Daystate Thoughts on used Daystate Red Wolf

I think this has to do with offhand balance if using a larger scope on a bullpup Style platform? At least that was my experience.
I put a FORM stock on my ghost which shifted weight slightly rearward which improved my offhand shots dramatically

I’m thinking bench too. Most of the Daystate shooters stayed with the Red Wolf. The platform is very good all around, and yes the rifle platform can be advantageous.

I hope all of you are correct. I just bought a RWHP in 30 cal LNIB from AOA, and it will be here Tuesday. I really wasn't in the market for a 30 cal, as it's much more than I need, but the price was so good I couldn't let it go past. My first Daystate, and electronic gun.

You too, huh? My used (but Excellent, not LNIB) RW HP .30 cal (walnut) from AoA just showed up on the little brown truck yesterday afternoon. Still haven't shot it yet, but lets just say that this is not my first Daystate, my first electronic Daystate, my first Red Wolf or even my first Red Wolf in .30 cal!

They are fine guns, and are even better when coupled with the caring and excellent service which I have always received when needed from AoA. Enjoy!

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm seeing reference to HP and standard.....what is the difference in a standard Red Wolf and HP Red Wolf?

Weights for the Redwolf vary with stock selection
heaviest is the PRS
then laminated
lightest being the Turkish walnut?
you can also put a 300 cc bottle on one to further reduce weight and still get over 100 shots in .177 at <20 fpe

I tried that pic rail and I found that it stuck out too far in front and in order to get the scope's bell to clear you needed higher rings than desired and then the cheek rest wouldn't go high enough. It didn't work for me.

Personally I think a good set of adjustable scope mounts like the Sportsmatch ATP34 (34mm) or ATP66 (30mm) really work out well and keep the scope lower.

One accessory I will say I believe it worth every penny is the PRS Extended Arca / Picitinny Rail. It's pricey at near $300 but it'll give you multiple very solid mount points for tripod and bipod.

I did. The price on the LNIB RWHP 30 cal was so low, I added the rail, and a 0 DBM moderator, five tins of pellets, and still got out of there less than a NIB RW. Now all I need is that 310 EVO....This is an expensive habit.

I'm shooting just 30ish yards, using a one-inch tube. I'm pretty sure it will clear with medium rings. I've got a 20-year-old Anshutz 2025 PCP, and its one-inch rings are so high your ears pop. It's a 15 foot pound rifle made for targets, and the pigeons and squirrels just laugh at it. It's without gauges, so I'm never sure of a complete fill from a scuba tank. I'm hoping with my incoming RWHP 30 cal, and the soon to get 310 EVO air compressor, things will change.

Snip snip or be brave with the band saw. But test mount the scope and rail before cutting it down
the weight was an issue when I added the under rail - liked it but too heavy for me
