Three five shot groups with Atomic XR

Sent these three consecutively after work today. Am dog tired, but had to send a few down range. Bipod front, fist and shoulder for rear. Wind from behind my left shoulder about 2-3 mph. Groups 1 and 2, JSB Exact Jumbo 18s. Group 3? CPHPs. Within 50 yards? Small pests don’t know the difference…

i hear that..didn't sleep worth a crap last night and it was a busy day at work.. then there was my chores on the farm when i get home... i'm beat.

Thank you gentlemen… I work at a custom wood shop and spent this week milling 25, 12’ x 6” pieces of oak to required dimensions. But only after being softened up by twice that many pieces of poplar the previous week. So a little shooting after work is relaxing as I just sit there and shoot.

The Atomic XR is a sweet PCP, that it can accurately shoot CPHPs for plinking and pesting is great. I like and am blessed with the opportunity to shoot a lot. So sub $7 vs. $20 per tin? No brainer for me... For my pesting applications, in the Atomic XR. CPHPs have become my go to pellet. Still love the JSBs though.

Both the old and new CPHPs shoot the same out of my Atomic XR… I would not pass them up because of older packaging.

hey luis, i just gotta share here what the ranger does for me at 35yards (this is where i zeroed the ranger) and too much coffee hence the "java jerk". ️️️

you have a great setup as well!

@ZedCee, nice grouping… Just came in from some plinking and target shooting. At forty yards it can still shoot dimes if I do my part. About to go do a little pesting. Took these last three shots at 25 yards. Followed by two shots at 40 yards. I say she’s ready to go.

CPHPs at 725 fps avg., TP on high
CPHPs at 589 fps avg., TP on mid setting.
Did not chrono the lowest setting. Which I will attempt this weekend. At 50 yards the CPHPs are making over 8 FPE at the high setting. Plenty for squirrels and pest birds.
