Tired of fiddling with Glasses behind your scope?

This is what I bring with me when I go to the eye doctor. I got the sights from a broken air soft pistol and glued them onto this piece of wood.
It does not look like a real gun so I don't frighten any body at the doctors office but I can grip it like one and look at the sights to see if I'm getting a clear sight picture as the doctor tries different lenses.

Several years ago I asked my eye doctor how she could set up my glasses to enable me to see my front sight better. She asked me what distance from my eye was the front sight. I said about 6 inches beyond my hand. She asked me if I had my pistol available for a more accurate measurement. I said yes, so she asked me to assume my shooting position so she could measure the length to the front sight. So in the doctor's office, with the exam room door open, I drew my 1911 for her measurement. She didn't flinch and set up my glasses appropriately.

That's a good Doc
