TMAC's Air Gun Service

New guy here. Anyone know anything about TMAC's?

I sent in a Sheridan Blue Streak about 8 months ago to have it resealed and drilled for a Williams peep. I got confirmation from Tony and a few friendly emails, but haven't heard from him in a while, get no response to emails, phone box is full, "contact us" function on the website isn't getting a response.

Hope he's OK. Anyone know the outfit?

Well, after several calls since I started this thread, I final got hold of Tony today. He promised to have it heading back by the end of the week. Hoping there's a happy end to this. Don't mind waiting, but would like better communication and a more accurate timeline going in.

Thanks for the help. I'll update when I see how the work turned out.

I am Tony V McDaniel, owner of TMacs Aigun Service, LLC. I know these post are from 2019 but I’m sure people are still reading them. I just discovered these comments recently. I apologize for my poor communication and extended service times during this period. I was 65 years old when I decided to go to school and get a 2 year degree in Computer Integrated Machining. Being 65 I didn’t know how much time I would have before I wouldn’t be able to attend college. So I enrolled though I knew it would be hard to stay on top of my airgun business. I did my best because I knew if I completed the course I would be better able to serve my customers once I completed it. I got my degree in February 2021. It was rough going with trying to maintain my airgun business and homework. So please accept my apologies if my decision to return to school cause you any grief, maybe sometime I can make it up to you in a future repair or with my newly acquired skills. Thank you for your patience.

TMAC'S is a small shop, catering to folks that have a special air gun that they want brought back to it's original function. He first disassembles the gun to determine the extent of repairs needed. Then he cleans every part while checking for wear. After deciding the best course of action, he rebuilds the gun with new o-rings and seals and reassembles. Then a velocity check to make sure the gun in within specs. After that, it is a through wipe down to assure that the gun looks the best it can. I've personally seen Tony"s work and can say that if it can be fixed, he will do it. He is a small shop and can't do super quick turn a rounds, but when he fixes it..........................it is fixed.

:

Just sent a Diana 48 to him a month ago, no response to emails, voice mails and doesn't answer his shop phone. Not sure if he is still in business, deceased or just a poor businessman, either way no rifle, no response. Quite unfortunate seemed genuine when I spoke with him prior to sending the rifle.
Gun was received to my shop 09/12/2022. This date also coincides with when I got Covid and was out for two weeks. Before that I was out with my son whom was in Duke Hospital the whole month of July so I am behind but I did not expect it being longer than my usual 4-6 week turn around time which in this case would be October 13th. The only phone call I have been able to find was yesterday 09/27/2022 at 1:53 pm when I was out for a late lunch and this post is at 10 pm the same day. I am the only person in the shop so I would have gotten the message later in the evening when I usually would have checked my calls and called today. I always tell customers it will be 4-6 weeks as I have a heavy load of repairs to be done and then complicated by illnesses in the family. But as stated considering this is mainly replacement of broken parts which most were included I did not expect an extension past my normal turn around time of 4-6 weeks which would be October 13th. I would have been glad to have discussed this with the customer if given adequate time to respond. Not saying that it wasn't possible that earlier attempts to contact may have been made but I have all the numbers that have called me and all my emails and found no other attempts. When I tell a customer it will be 4-6 weeks I don't expect to call them unless there will be an extension of the turn around time. No hard feelings just disappointed that it is so easy to post on forum such as this without having complete information which can hurt businesses reputations. I should have this repair completed by the end of next week if not before. My desire always is to have satisfied customers but I understand at times communication can sometimes break down. If that is the case here I am doing my best to do what is right.

Any reasonable person will not hold this against you since you are still up holding your end of the time set for the repair. It sucks that you have to get on a forum to defend yourself and take time away from doing your job when you have not run past the turn around time agreed upon by both parties.

@Bravo Zulu If you were told 4 - 6 weeks turn around then stop wasting peoples time and bad mouthing a shop that isnt past the due date you agreed to. If you did not agree on 4-6 weeks offer up proof otherwise you are wasting everyones time including the guy trying to fix your airgun.
