To all the Skout Epoch owners…

How is it shooting? Is it really worth the $1K+ USD over an Impact M3 or Panthera? What kind of accuracy are you getting? What is your reg pressure at and what is your FPE? Shot count? Anything you don’t like? I am genuinely curious. If you have additional info you’d like to add, please do and thanks.

Just in my hands a few days ... Build quality is top shelf !!
As stated in another SKOUT thread, with the long barrel .30 making just shy of 90 fpe at 1200 psi Having a LOT MORE power available.

Myself not shot a full tank as of yet .. Raining & Stormy right now.

Tho did just get off the phone with the Owner ( Bill ) a few moment ago after spending some time talking about things I'm fooling with in R&D / experimenting.
He stated on a full fill in .30 running at @ 80 fpe there is 100 shots to be had. Now no idea what the actual efficiency numbers of that is ? so it is all I've got at this juncture.

Thanks for the specs. Most of the YouTube reviews on it don’t mention any specs at all. Very impressive results…

For reference if anyone is reading this, the FX Maverick averages 102 shots at 62 FPE (34 grains at 902 FPS). So you’re getting 18 more FPE per the same shot count.

Pretty good, but this doesn’t mean much to be frank. See I’d gladly give up 20 shots per fill if it meant my accuracy would be better.

What we need to see now is some accuracy!!!

I have handled one and it is really only meant to be bolted to a bench, at least imo , it is very awkward and unwieldy , ergonomics was left out of the equation when building this rifle. However, I was completely blown away by the fit and finish of everything.

@Motorhead did tune it a bit so it's not out of box. I was shooting it yesterday and can attest to how many shots he got because we didn't fill up once and gone through 3-4 mags with tank starting at 2500 psi. Very impressive! So far the Skout platform has a lot of potential, definitely need some improvement but @Motorhead certainly has many great ideas on how to improve it. Only real downside is size and weight for those who carry/hunt.

Being a FX fanboy I would still get the panthera over it next 6-12 months because it is a far more mature platform and just shoot slugs lights out right out of box. I for one will not buy any airgun that doesn't shoot slugs well out of box for over $1000 let alone $1000 more than $2000, unless it's for competition. That might change once more improvement is put into the Skout.

Skout has many features I do like but it is their first attempt and ergonomically it's not good at any particular disciplines, sad result of trying to please everyone but not pleasing anyone. It's too heavy for carry but doesn't have front rail or ability to add from rail for bench, that unfortunately killed it for me. If you have a use case of built like a tank heavy then definitely look into this gun. When it comes to power and light weight combo for hunting the Impact is still the king, even the panthers is a little porky if you ask me.

Yes, we ran 4 mags threw rifle ( 88 shots ) starting on an @ 250 bar fil or 3600 psi before coming off reg at 1150. @ 900 fps w/44.75's
I got it's first kill on a ground squirrel at @ 130 yards in 10-15 mph quartering winds. Took a bit being really close on many other dirt rats ... one connected & all I saw for a flash was 4 feet too the sky

Any who, I'm sharing what tune & set up tweaks being made with factory and by no miens have they been proofed by others best I know.
Will say the rifles a shooter !!! very impressed with it's first true shake down testing session.
