I think I will get some shooting in today before this cold front comes in tomorrow. I was debating on weather I wanted to test some of my swaged slugs at longer range. Hopefully it isn’t too windy.

Yes, sir... we are. A few pics. I took these all within a mile of my house here.@Rob_in_NC I can recall working down in Sabine County after a decent hurricane hit SW Louisianan and SE Texas In 2020. I saw communities devastated by the hurricane and got nothing by way of FEMA while neighboring towns got aid and relief. I watched families rebuild their own properties. And when I say devestated I mean devastated. I actually pulled my chain out and hooked it to a section of a tree or two to help clear a roadway so people can have access to a road that I could easily bypass in a 4x4. I recall taking a generator down to one of my workers’ family that I found about 5 counties away on a return shelf because generators were all bought up in the region. Rural southern communities are built different.
You forgot to mention, ones in the ditch likely had their cruse control on? LOLWhen I lived in Memphis the whole city would shut down over some freezing rain / sleet / snow for days. A quarter inch of snow and a cold spell was like Armageddon in 2014. No school, businesses shut down, pilots stranded, dogs and cats living together, pure mayhem. I was one of the few cars on the road with my all season tires. Cars in ditches and fields everywhere. Pickup trucks with a pile of salt and two guys with shovels in the back for snow removal![]()
It’s always been a mystery to me when I walk into a grocery store and see the same things cleaned out before a storm. In my 56 years I’ve endured quite a few 2+ foot snow storms. Never housebound for more than a day or two. And seeing what people are hoarding, it’s no wonder why everyone is overweight. Maybe tons of snow triggers an I need French toast craving or something else that involves bread and milk as a comfort food.I'm in Cincinnati. We got 2 feet of snow. Roads were cleared in 3 days or less. They do a great job but still our grocery stores were empty like it was going to last a month.
