To sell or not to sell…

I would keep it. I was in a similar situation as you about a year ago. I had Diana 430L .177 I tried to sell but I just couldn't go through with it. I wrapped up the Diana until I was confident no moisture would get to it, and stored it under the floor. I haven't thought about the Diana until now. I did this because I might have a grand kid who would take an interest in my hobby. It would make a great present some day.

I bought an HW35 in 1978 but a few years later a new .20 R1 made the 35 obsolete to me, I no longer liked it and I sold it. Many years went by and, after acquiring quite a few classic HW guns, I decided I was "missing" a 35 and bought another.

Keep your gun. One day down the road you may miss owning that classic and will wish you had it back and try to find another.

If you sell it, sell it to me. That way I can make 15 percent when you whis you could buy it back. Your first springer is a gun you can never replace. My dad had a saying for Matial objects. "It ain't eaten nothing". I would pay dearly to get on of my early Springers back. An early Beeman Webley C 1 in .22 w/ a4xAO marksman scope.

The FWB 124 is a classic. As you say, it is worth more now than when you bought it. If unsure of selling, keep it until you are. I've regretted selling the few guns I've sold over the years, so now I don't buy unless I think it is something worth having until I croak. I've got a nice Benji 397 I seldom shoot, but it works, takes up as much room as a broom in my closet and it is worth modestly more now than when I bought it new in the mid 90's. I'm keeping it until I am compelled by some need to sell it. Chances are it'll be someone else's problem, though.

If you even have thoughts of possibly regretting it, then keep it. I sold my Beeman R10 deluxe thst ive owned since new in 1992, to help fund a pcp. The pcp ended up being my main go to and although I love the pcp, I find myself thinking of that R10- a lot! It’s in great hands now and being used a lot by a big springer person, so I know for sure she appreciates it.

That FWB is a classic and if you didn’t know, highly sought after. So just know what you have

I really appreciate all the replies! Yeah, I’m going to keep it. I like the idea of giving it to a grandchild if my kids ever bless me with one. What I need to do now is write an “unofficial will” of my desires for items like this. Something to my son like, if you aren’t going to shoot this, make sure somebody gets it that will.

I just passed my Diana 27 to my oldest grandson ( 16) . Made his day and mine to. In my little mind that’s how I somewhat justify my to many airgun purchases lol

Just like most I gotta few bucks tied up in pcp rifles, accessories, tanks and compressor. My springer's very seldom get used... Infact I can't remember the last time I shot a springer. But I'm never going to sell them. (I kept my favorite 2 springer's sold or gave the rest away) I can always shoot it without any life support system. Might as well keep your springer... It doesn't owe you nothing... doesn't eat much... Doesn't use any electric and makes a great back up rig.
