There is a stormy sound outside but the rain is spotty. If it gets wet the squirrel woods will be quiet. The leaves soften and the squirrels get careless because of the lower noise level. Still have to stalk into range quietly. Some large white oaks may still be getting stripped of their acorns. Small chips of acorn dropping into the leaves is the dead giveaway. It seems to toughen the leaves to be wet and I hear the sounds better. I turn up the hearing aids too. Helps to not shoot LR. Springers are so much quieter. Went yesterday; got me a squirrel coming out of the truck! There were two, prancing about the yard. Took my rifle started to slowly get within range; and boom, had me a squirrel within 5 mins. It was a headshot. Already seasoned and ready for the pressure cooker.

What cdo you do with the skin? It's intact last except for the head. I want to be able to make something.
