Today we try fix the Aircuda MAX regulator,....will need help.

A little late, but here is the washer stack orientation. Down load the owners manual from the jts website as it has more info than the 1 that shipped with the gun. It has an exploded parts view with o-ring sizes.

Cool thanks,...I think that is actually the way I put them back,.....lucky dummy :ROFLMAO:

So I just tried to adjust the regulator going with the ballpark 1/4 turn for 30 BAR,...I did short of 1/2 turn from where it was,

Filled the gun to 160 BAR

And the regulator shows just shy of 110 BAR,...a bit less then I wanted but I'm calling it good and try what she say like this,...now that I'm an "EXPERT"

I can always go back in :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Here she is ready to go,....just realised I have no light pellets so the slow tune might not work so good

The regulator is nearly identical to the DAR regulator, I pulled mine off the G3 .25 and replaced it with a straight tube with O-rings on both ends to bypass it and give me an unregulated gun.

Turned out it was a waste of time, I dont understand the science but I lost FPS and pulled the tube. I still have it if anybody wants to experiment.

Interesting, I also would have thought the opposite.

Think of it like a Strongman lifting a heavy weight.
The Strong man is our hammer and spring, he's only got so much strength ! The Weight being lifted is the AIR PRESSURE holding the poppet closed.

Higher the pressure, greater is the weight to be lifted

If our strong man can normally lift said weight of 2000 psi he's good to go .... If pressure is LESS THAN 2000 his lifting job is easier, MORE pressure and the weight increases substantially and our strong man can't lift it as before, finding as pressure goes higher can bairly nudge / move it.

Poppet lift acts like this ... A calibrated REGULATED PCP knows that the strength it needs to lift the poppet effectively and is fitted accordingly.
Take away the regulator and the Only pressure the gun will operate at as before will be very close to the previous regulators set pressure.
As you go above that pressure ( Say 2K ) and if PCP had a good balanced tune happening ... will slowly start slowing down higher the pressure goes.
* Lol ...Yes our strong man does not have enough strength any longer. *Want to lift the greater weight of more pressure ... MORE hammer weight and spring will be required.

This is what we call VALVE LOCK, meaning the valve is resistant to opening and seemingly locking itself bias to be closed and stay closed.

Hope this helps you guys understand .....

Ok that makes sense,
so.......as the gun comes down in pressure and nears the previous regulated pressure the FPS should climb and at least match the regulated ones right ? of course now you lose all those shots that you used to come down to that pressure point ( a steep Bell Curve ),...how far off am I ? :ROFLMAO:

@AirArcher66 Looks like you’re good to go.
Shot the gun and everything looks Ok,...couple issues tho;

First I have no pellets but for a few stragglers that are lighter then 31gr so a low power tune makes little sense, second the gun is really loud so not very good for just messing around in the yard.

I think I will reset the regulator around the original settings at 140 BAR and just max out the Hammerspring ( the gun gave me 49 FPE with the Baracuda ) and use it as a hunter, and forget about the low power tune

I can get that esier with either one of my Storms or the Standard JTS

Really? Mine makes more noise when the pellet hits paper than the gun makes.

Full discloser, I had to bore out baffles and endcap significantly because of severe clipping,...cannot even use a .30 LDC on it because my POI would be 12" away ( did try once again today just in case ).

So I have no way of Moderating this gun further, being so loud at low power makes it useless really might as well just maxed out and use it as a hunter.

Is the gun the same loudness as before you troubleshot everything? Is it regular 22lr loud? Or is it much more quiet?

Generally a REGULATED PCP looking at equal states of tune / output .... will be QUIETER on a higher reg setting which takes small sips of higher pressure ... Than a lower reg pressure taking longer sips.
* when both as stated are set/adjusted for equal output.

I never knew that and I was surprised when the gun seemed louder with the reg at 100 BAR vs at 140 BAR like it was from factory

That is likely due to the shroud not being turned flat, Travis told me to remove my shroud and inserts, turn it around and assemble it backwards. It works fine now, no clipping and no need to drill out the moderator.

Ahhh ok I'll give that a ahot, I have the perfect test for it a short 5" .30 LDC that now clips and gets a 12-15" POI shift
