Tominco's IMPACT !

Thanks for all the support guys! I'm glad you're getting something out of it. :)

I just got done another round of recording and am now into the editing process. In this one, I'll be going over
Grip swap
Weight
Balance
Barrel length
Carrying by the rear handle
Jay85's questions form above.

Hopefully, I get some time tonight to run some chrony numbers. I've been playing with this rifle and going over it trying to learn and share with you all and I've hardly shot it! LOL! Trigger time baby! YEAH!
The mounts on my scope ended up a little too short so I'm going to take the opportunity to do a quick bit on scope mounting.

I'll post it as soon as the timer goes off!
Hope you enjoy!

thanks tom, been waiting for some positive news on the elusive impact for months and it looks like the wait may well soon be over.

any chance of a comprehensive price list tom ?
is virtually everything optional ?
any ideas regarding the calibre options available ?
is the case dependant on the options bought, ie- number of barrels, ammo clips, spare bottles scope etc ?
i look forward to the next update

Hi. Thanks for the videos.
Can you tell more about the telescopic silencer because im not convinced about its effectiveness. You said in the video that it might be hard to tell the difference but it sounds really loud, extended or not. It would seem its just a long empty chamber when extended and if there are no baffles inside, well. The idea behind it is great, but is it really making that big a difference on the gun.
I think it would have been better to go with the modular design from the Wildcat.
Again. Thanks for the gunporn videos ;)

Baffles are NOT the key to sound suppression of an airgun, volume is more important than baffles.

FX had mentioned that they may offer a fixed shroud system for the .30 caliber that will accommodate additional end pieces. No mention of offering it in all calibers. I shot both the .25 & .30 with the telescoping shroud and I found it adequate for most situations.

Michael hit the nail on the head there. But I also wanted to mention that I've had to film in my garage which is a big metal can. So, it amplifies it for the camera tremendously!

I find it hard to believe that FX would spend the added time and expense to design an entirely new sound suppression system from the ground up had they felt their existing modular baffle technology was a better solution for the gun. But then again, what do I know? I can only say I shot the Impact with the .25 barrel installed at the EBR and couldn't really tell if it was the same or slightly quieter than my .25 Wildcat. I certainly didn't think it was louder.

"FunGun"Tom-
When you get around to shooting your chrony work would you make note of any change in POI due to the telescoping moderator being extended vs fully retracted and maybe point in between (assuming that is an operable position, to vary the amount of telescoping)? Thanks. Great work!
Now thats a good question!!!

FunGun - I'm curious about that too. If the wind would ever calm down to under "blows hats off heads" speeds, I'd be happy to run some tests! :) Yes, you can shoot with the shroud anywhere in between closed and fully extended. EDIT - This is NOT recommended as the shroud will move toward full extension with each shot. It seems to have been designed to be used fully closed or full open only!

Travels4fun - I'll have to put my speedy .25 Wildcat up against the Impact, at some point, and see if I can tell a difference. Shooting in my garage for videos is always loud! LOL!

I have removed baffles from my Weaihrauch silencer and shot the 2-3 pellets, the rifle was much louder and one of the pellets hit end hole of the silencer damaging the crowning. Accuracy was horrible too. But I guess FX found some new way to do this, otherwise they would not use it. I just hope that this shroud system will be removable so that people can use their own systems if they want and to me the rifle looked better with the stackable baffles.
