Good shooting. I'm so rusty off hand that I probably couldn't keep them on a silver dollar... Need to do something to rectify that this spring.

I have always thought of getting one of those. Can you use any BBs for it? or do you have to use the Avanti precision ground BBs? I was thinking for Short range inside a garage, that would be great.

any seem to work fine jimaok. i plink in the garage with it, doesn't seem to mind any BBs i use.
BBs can ricochet a LOT. DO wear eye protection. DON'T put a hole in something you don't mean to.

I have one and that is my go to gun in the garage, its so accurate, at the beginning when I didn't have it yet, I though that it was a gimmick, but its actually true on what they advertised when I got one, this one is rank in my top 5 collections.

I’ve got the Daisy 499A. Got it as a birthday present as a kid. It’s gotta be every bit of 40+ years old and still works great. The 499B and A look awfully close to the same. This little beauty helped me learn how to use open sights, used it in 4-H, scared off feral barn cats, and at close distance could take out starlings at the dairy barn.

I am always amazed how well those little rifles shoot. I've read that Daisy uses a closer toleranced barrel tube on the 499. I really do think the Avanti BB's are worthwhile
