Top 3 indestructible PCP's?? *** UPDATED***

I interpreted the OP as wanting to know what 3 are most likely to survive.

I think it would be interesting to see them compared to any FX, Daystate, Air Arms, Brocock, Taipan, Kalibergun...

I am absolutely a fan of EdGuns... until they are dethroned😊 Then I will sell and move on.

Bring on the testing👍🏻

After rereading the OP...

EdGun Lelya 2.0

FX Wildcat

Kalibergun or Taipan offering

These are all great and respected guns in the same space.

I'm now thinking two videos may be in order, one video between 3 manufacturers such as FX, Daystate and Brocock. Another video between manufacturers such as AAA, Edgun and Kalibergun. The biggest hurdle besides actually getting the guns would be to create a fairly constructed test. The last thing I want is for people to say I played favorites.

Barring driving on it, Theoben ! Will go through it all and still function fine. Bolt action AA , likely the newer style also. QB-1 running air.

Trying to stick with modern pcps in the $1500/2000 dollar range. The fact these are higher end "should"result in being able to withstand somewhat poor field conditions. Thanks for chiming in, I do like the idea of a budget survival challenge.

Crossman, I think it would be a very interesting and informative test on heavy duty, average duty, or old favorites, which and what ever category of guns you choose, of all the reviewers I follow I have confidence you will put them thru the most honest field testing you can! And you know as well as I that there’s always someone who’s going to say your test was biased, not objective, bla,bla,bla, but in the end EVERYONE will be anxiously awaiting your results... and I for one would send some funding your way to help defray the costs! I’m sure others would to, start the testing and let the chips fall as the may!

This is definitely going to be an interesting test. A few questions come into mind about what type of platform would be compared with another. Bullpup or traditional rifle? Bottle gun or cylinder tube? Maybe they need to be under one category. IMHO, I think the test should be conducted with airguns that are currently available for purchase.

Another category could be compared of older guns that are no longer available but who would want to ruin a perfectly good gun that's hard to get parts for? One thing for sure is that it sure would get expensive fast. Another thing to consider when testing is what type of stock would be used? Wood, laminate or synthetic?

It's already a given that a wood or laminate stock would not hold up well in an abusive type of test compared to a synthetic stock. Well a good synthetic stock anyways and not cheap plastic. I'd hate to see another Daystate Redwolf stock broken at the wrist and hopefully not from shipping. If any of the stocks crack or split, would points be deducted or would it be only if it is non-fuctional?

My List;

Bullpups:

- FX Wildcat

- EDgun R5M Standard

- Airgun Technology Vulcan or Uragan (Is it too new?)

- Kalibrgun Cricket

- Taipan Veteran

- AAA Slayer

- FX Impact (It's a bottle gun though)

- RTI Priest 2 (Also a bottle gun)

Traditional Rifles;

- Daystate Huntsman Regal XL

- FX Dreamline Classic

- AAA Evol

- Air Arms S510 XTRA FAC

- Brocock Compatto (Semi-Bullpup?)

- Kalibrgun Cricket Mini Carbine

- Weihrauch HW100?

- Steyr Hunting 5

Bottle Guns;

- Brocock Bantam Sniper

- FX Crown

- RAW HM1000X LRT

- Daystate Redwolf

- JSAR Raptor

- Daystate Safari

- Brocock Commander

- Daystate Wolverine HR Side Lever

- AirForce Talon/Condor/Texan

- FX Royale 400/500 (Don't know if they are still being made)

Take Down Guns;

- EDgun Leshiy

- Air Arms S510 TDR

- FX DreamTac Compact

- Benjamin Prod (Maybe not in the same class and budget?)

- FX Verminator (Also don't know if it's still being made)

Maybe I'm missing some but it's just an idea. Also, why I'm I thinking that these guns would be run over by a LandCruiser lol?

EDIT:

On a serious note. What would be an ideal test? A 3 to 4 foot drop? A drop off the side of a hill? Dropped on the side of the gun or at an angle with the barrel hitting the ground first? Maybe a 15 to 30 foot fall from a tree stand? In a hunting scenario, it would be realistic. Also another thing to consider, what optic would be used? Hope it's a durable one for the test.

I really like this idea!!!

Maybe through Air Arms in on the western side of things and maybe consider a Veteran or even one of the newer Zbroia rifles to the mix for eastern girls.....and then have a playoff of the two winners for grand champion ! I personally don't think the bottle guns have a steak in this test with the barrel hanging out in mid air...POI problems for sure in a torcher test...maybe a uragan it seem to be pretty robust...

We all know Edguns are built like Russian tanks and are designed to be a hunting tool and not to just look good on the bench...this holds true for most of eastern European guns to be ultra reliable in the field!

Great Idea how ever you decide! Cant wait to see the outcome...

Thanks for sharing, I don't think the drops would be anything excessive. Was thinking something like at most falling from waist high, Lean against a tree and falls over. Gets wet, overnight in freezing temperatures. Cocking the gun rapidly a bunch of times, barrel flex test etc, Test accuracy before and after test. The scope would be marked and removed before test as I don't think many scopes would survive and it could get very expensive. I plan to use this thread for updates, I've already sent out text and emails asking for participating manufacturers. Hopefully I will have a complete list of the participants after the Shot Show.

Those examples of testing you gave is more realistic. Hopefully the manufacturers/dealers will step up to the plate. Then again, some might not be so willing because it won't be a favorable result for them. Looking forward to your results.

I agree, will look good on them to step up. If they choose not to participate I will just aquire the guns without them and make sure it's all public.

Great ideas, Dana. This is something that is really going to spur interest from the consumers. You know, the “regular Joes” that pay the manufacturers bills. These manufacturers seem to cater to the pro shooters far too much, IMO.

Cheers to the common folks 😉
