FX Top 5 Reasons to Upgrade Your FX Impact M4 with an Advanced Rail System

Just posted this video on my channel and thought I would share here in the AGN community. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on FX Impact rails and their experiences. I see a lot of people saying that in order to get an FX Impact to shoot with precision that you HAVE to add a rail or some kind of mod. I have found that not to be true, but rather I upgrade my FX Impacts with rails to match how I am going to use it. I have found that when it comes to precision shooting with the FX Impact M4, every detail matters. A key upgrade that can significantly boost performance is the installation of an advanced rail system, such as a high-quality top or bottom rail. In this video, I gave my top 5 reasons why these upgrades are essential for enhancing your shooting experience. Whether it’s increased rigidity, better balance, or improved accessory mounting, these rail systems are designed to maximize your rifle’s potential. What are your thoughts?

I want to know what the point of this new and improved M4 rail is. Since the M4 came out, every reviewer has been show casing the thing with an aftermarket rail. I personally haven't used the M4, but I have used the MK2 and MK3. I felt that the OEM rail was more than good enough unless you wanted extra MOA and added rigidity throughout the gun. I ended putting a airmarksman bone rail medium on my m3 compact because the gun arrived with the stock bent inwards. The rail fixed that issue and gave me the added benefits of holding the cock arm open.

Ya I mention that in the video. The OEM top rail from the factory is really good. It helped with the stiffness issue. What I am highlighting though in this video is there are use cases where a different rail is beneficial, but it is totally dependent on what you want to do. The bottom rail as well. If I just want a simple piccatiny rail slot to put on a bipod, then the M4 right from the factory already has that. But if I want to put the bipod in a MUCH better position our forward towards the muzzle, then a bottom rail is beneficial.

It is like the day I drove my 2022 Tacoma off the dealer lot with 32 inch tires and not a single accessory. Could it get me where I need to go, sure. Could I get through terrain better with 34 inch mud and snow ties, hell yes. Could the bed of the truck carry stuff. Sure. Could the bed of the truck carry more stuff with a rack on the back, hell yes. I find it funny how many people complain about accessorizing high-end airguns.

This reality literally exists in every sport or hobby and if you really think about it, the most expensive versions of things in every single sport or hobby often get the most accessory options. Motorcycles, cars, trucks, drones, etc. etc. etc.

The bullpup design is ideal for shooting with a bipod off your shoulder (no rear rest/bag) either prone or sitting at a table or bench because it brings the barrel back far enough that a degree of movement at your shoulder does not swing the muzzle as much as a standard rifle design.

My 30 cal M3 is setup with a Saber Tactical top and bottom rail using a UTG Over Bore bipod for >/= 60 yard target shooting and a UTG 50 cal bipod for < 60 yards. The correct bipod placement between trigger and muzzle will really steady the rifle and both the Over Bore and bipod have their own sweet spots.

My 17 cal M3 has a K&L top and bottom rail and is used for </= 50 yard target shooting, again shooting from the shoulder with no rear rest or bag. I use the 50 cal Accu-Tac bipod on this rifle.

Both M3s have stock barrel systems so the top rails protect the shroud from hits and keep pressure off the shroud when cased.

The M3 & M4 are lite rifles.

On the bipod I like to balance the M3 via bipod position so that I can rest the bottom of the grip in my left palm, ghost ring the Bullseye without the butt against my shoulder or my cheek touching the stock and then squeezing the trigger with the thumb and forefinger of my right hand and have the crosshairs stay on target.

When I find the bipod position where the rifle just floats in my palm, that position is the sweet spot and now I am ready to shoot normally.

This worked well with the 17 cal but the 30 cal would jump.

Adding weights would affect the overall balance so I went to a 50 cal bipod for the weight and it worked. The crosshairs would stay on target. The Over Bore worked even better.

But I shoot fixed distance and slow fire and no where near your level so my setup can be very different from yours.
