I've tried to discover how many total pellets are fired at targets in a Hunter Field Target match. Such a simple question but so far haven't found the answer. Thanks in advance.

Flintstone, every match director running the competition sets the total number of shots. Usually depends on how many targets are available. GENERALLY, matches for all shooters, Open Class, Hunter Class and WFTF run between 42 to 60 shots. Hope this helps

I shot two HFT (Hunter Field Target) matches this last weekend. They are 30 shots per session.
If you are talking about AAFTA rifle Field Target, Hunter Division, than it is the same as the other Divisions and it can vary. It depends on the match and the match director. The National match is typically 60 shots per session. One on Saturday, one on Sunday. Usually 15 lanes, 2 targets per lane, 2 shots per target. After shooting others formats, I have decided that is my preferred format - more shooting less moving around.
