Another vote for the 300S...my only complaint is they make all my other fave air rifles seem superfluous! One in good fettle does over 600 FPS with light ammo, and can literally be cocked with your little finger. They are amazing, and make you appreciate how much you can do even at this low power, when combined with fine accuracy.
I have shot the 300S Junior that beerthief now has. The former owner stuck on a scope, and at 35 yards we hit 1-inch diameter pill bottles dead center, literally
every time, the pellets (JSB 7.9 Exacts) passing clean through both sides of the tough plastic. We had about a 60% hit rate at 50 yards, still penetrating one side.
If size/weight is a factor for you, look for a 300S Junior (aka "Mini"). The action and power are identical to the full-size variants, only the stock and barrel differ. The 300S's barrel is 14.5mm in diameter. On the Junior, this protrudes 330mm forward of the breech block, with no sleeve. On the 300S Universal in this shot, the barrel is 400mm, with a 17.5 mm full-length sleeve that steps out to 23.5mm at the end. The difference this makes in the overall feel and balance is striking.
