Brocock/BRK Transfer Port data for Sniper XR

Hello, I'm new to PCP rifles and AGN. I recently bought a barely used Brocock Compatto Sniper XR in .22 with Huma reg. So far it has impressed me.

I don't have a chrono yet and have been searching the forums for TP/ Power switch velocity data but haven't found data for a similar model. If I understand correctly, the Sniper XR series ( except mag or 12fpe versions) are pretty much the same, as far as power, design and tuning from factory?

My Compatto has 17" bbl and the TP / power switch has 4 positions.

I was hoping someone might have time to share any velocity data or accuracy experience they have for this rifle using common .22 Pellets. I've been using JSB Jumbo 15.89gr and Jumbo RS 13.43gr with great results.

I'm primarily doing backyard pest control at 60yds or less.

Thank you for reading

I have lots of Chrono data. I will post them for you in a little while when I get to work. Mine loves CPHP's and JSB 18 gr

I only used power level 3 for the FTT numbers, it’s less than .5 fbs and I never use it. The Monster numbers are not in order but you can figure it out. CPHP’s have the same trajectory on power level 2 as the JSB 18’s on power level 4.

Thank you for Pathfinder data! That is actually at the top of my next gun wishlist. I do prefer the extra bottle capacity and the folding stock. I was curious how a 10" barrel would perform.

@PEP3, the extreme spreads on your shot strings are huge, why so? ES of over 200 fps? SD from 55 to 107 fps? The only normal string was the low power string with the H&N FTTs. Something is wrong, check out the ES and SD on my shot strings above…🙏
I'm no expert, but those ES numbers do seem far out of norm for this Rifle, especially with reg?

You extreme spread should be in tne low double digits… akin to the strings I posted. @PEP3, chrono strings numbers, particularly the Standard Deviation and Extreme Spread? Are definitely “not” the norm for any BRKs

I am familiar with the visible physical differences between the Sniper and the Compatto so that was one of my related questions.

Are the non- mag Sniper XR with a bottle and the Compatto XR with a cylinder tuned differently?
My first BRK was a Compatto and my second a Sniper HR (non mag) they were both tuned similarly…

My .22 Pathfinder is a sweet shooter, I plink with it from 15 to 102 yards. In good conditions it deadly on small pests out to 70+ yards, shooter doing his/her part of course…🙏

Great to know. Pathfinder would fit my purpose well. The Compatto has performed great too! Just would offer a few of advantages for me. Thanks again for your data and insight.

You’re most welcome… I am no expert, just a regular guy. Have own five different BRK models, currently have three. Atomic, Ghost and Pathfinder… Feel free to PM me for more of my personal perspective on them. Or simply search out my threads on them. I am a big fan of the brand through their consistent performance on targets and afield.

I did quite a bit of reading about various brands and models before I jumped in. Had a local professional pest control manager that also used BRK Sniper HR. The Compatto was a great starting point for me. Right now, with my experience using Compatto and it because it shoots so consistently, I don't see the need for me to switch from BRK to another mfg. In the future I might explore more adjustable and higher power models and the Ghost seems like another good choice.

Thanks again for your time and helpfulness!

I would guess that he changed the transfer port settings to create the large differences in velocity.

Yes, sorry I’ve been away for a couple of days. Those shot strings are different power levels. Most are 4 shots on each level. Only used power level 3 on one as it’s so close to P4. My sniper is perfect, no issues and stacks them out to 50 yards.
Understood, but your shot charts show 10 and 12 shot strings… Nonetheless, your SD and ES numbers are not good, particularly your triple digit extreme spreads. If you Sniper is “stacking” them at 50 yards, then something is wrong with your chronograph…🙏

🤣 Nothing is wrong, I was testing the output for all the power settings with different ammo. I’m good I promise.
