@durbs75 That’s a lot of raccoons. What sort of food is attracting all of them? May wanna consider calling someone with a ballsy set of hounds and let them tree those suckers. Then pick them off once they’re in the trees if you have the right gear.

My crown 380mm .25 setup I used on this shot is pushing JSB 25 gr. 806 fps at the muzzle. Nice clean kill and no worries about over penetration.

I have the same setup. Great for coons and iguanas!

I've used JSB 25g at 850 fps for coons works great. I'm now going to try JSB .25 34g MK2 heavies at 890 fps. That should give a little larger margin of error in shot placement and shots with less than ideal angle to the skull.

Very well done. I have faced similar situations. It is very exciting and adrenaline filled…And it’s nice when you perform well in such a situation. Nice shot by the way.

Were you holding the flashlight yourself? Or did you have a helper?

Thank you. My wife was holding the light so that helped. I will be getting a light to mount to the impact rail or another nv scope. I had a nv scope for a couple years but got rid of it.

This was with just regular corn about a 10 pounds worth. I have since then quit using corn for anything and went to just a protein like sweet feed and Buck Muscle. Raccoons won’t mess with the Buck Muscle.

I use my Texan .457 CF TX2 carbine for close up work less than 75 yards. I cast a 244 grain wide flat nose that splits skulls!!
