Trash panda down

Have had 1 or a couple of these coming around tearing up my porch and trash over the last week. Finally had the chance to set up a spot and one came in. 45 yards with the panthera .25 cal shooting NSA 55.5gr tuned down to 860 fps (91 fpe). Aimed for between the eyes which I’ve always had great results with but it hit low, in the throat. It ran maybe 10 yards and laid over.

Yes sir, AGM varmint TS35-384 LRF, 3x base mag
@Scott. t I think that’s an affordable option from the AGM line-up fit for an air rifle for pesting or short to medium-range hunting purposes for small to medium sized game and varmints. That LRF feature is crucial. I wish this unit would be promoted as a good entry-level thermal scope for airgunners. Thanks for sharing.

The LRF is a big benefit. If I was to do it over again I’d shell out the extra and get the 640 res, but this one is good. I can make out field mice with it alright out to 60 yards so far. I talked to AGM a couple months ago if they had plans to add a ballistics program for the LRF models and they said they have had a lot of requests for it so it may be coming with a future software update

Polymag right between the eye and ear and instant break dance competition

What caliber, muzzle FPE and distances? I use .25 JSB MK2 at 890 fps 23 yards. Very effective if you hit the brain. However they always do the death dance for 30 to 90 secs. I have some polymags but never used them on coons. I wonder if the expansion but with less penetration would shorten the dance time.

Has anyone ever shoot a coon with a PB rifle in the head, taking the back side of to skull off? Would they still dance?

I trap raccoons a fair bit, and dispatch them with a head shot at close range. They do the longest and hardest death dance of any animal I have encountered, even when using 22LR from 10 feet away. So I don't think it matters much what is used as far as airguns are concerned. And I do often use 22 and 25 airguns for dispatching as well.

I've killed plenty of those. They love breaking in to the chicken coop. I've had a couple chickens necks stripped all the way down to the bone, and a few just killed for the heck of it. I got tired of it and started posting up outside. M3 .25 800mm 120 fpe, and Dynamic .30 700mm 170 fpe puts a hurting on em.

Lol! Indeed I am. 50 grain Griffin boattails at 1040 fps. With boattails and airguns you get about 10-20 fps more than you would with a dish or flat base slug due to less friction in the barrel and better ballistic coefficients. With the same tune I'm shooting a 48 grain db hp at that same velocity 1040-1050 fps. I do have the 800mm .25 barrel though on my M3, but that will be up for sale today or tomorrow.

Yeah, but that's some wicked power out of the 25 impact, what's all done to it?
