Trio of Bandits DRT!

I built a feeder several years ago for the birds and squirrels around my home. Biggest reason for building it was so I could watch my dog (Boston Terrier), who chased squirrels out of the yard on a regular basis prior to the presence of the feeder. We now have 6 squirrels that visit regularly and it’s great fun watching my dog Polo try to catch one while having my morning coffee! Anyway few days ago I noticed the lid had been ripped from the hinges and was often found in the morning laying on the ground. I knew it was bandits! Short trip to Harbor Freight for motion sensor...installed to tree....Feeder Defense System! Anyhow my Taipan .22 paired with new JSB Hades did the job.

Nice. Did you get them all in one night?

Beach gunner, could you elaborate on the driveway sensor? I bought one but I really never could get it work when a critter came to the feeder. How did you set up the sensor etc? Pictures maybe? Thanks

First two pictures are the feeder and the motion sensor attached to tree just underneath. The second picture is the alarm that I put on my bedside table. Usually depending on what the Soluna tables say ill turn it on after we go to bed (usually lights out in main areas of the house). In bedroom watching news and alarm goes off, about 30 min after lights out. If Soluna tables say best time is after 10:30 or so I don’t turn it on.

The tree raccoons were shot all the same night within about 90 seconds.

What distance were you shooting? Enough light for regular optics or night vision needed? Looks like three head shots?

After the first one is shot the others usually run off and don't come back for more than an hour. Are you saying that raccoons in your area just stuck around in bewilderment waiting to get picked off?

This is the setup I used, Taipan Veteran .22 with Wicked Lights (green). The Bandits had never been shined with a green light before, so were un-conditioned to it. I raised the window, propped my gun on table in shooting position. Tree and feeder are 15 yards. First shot was to the front of head between the eyes, the other two run up the tree. The tree is isolated, as they peaked around the tree, the next two shots were to the side of the head, between eye and ear. The Taipan is very quite in its original configuration from the manufacturer, adding Donnyfl Sumo has made it MFQ ( Mouse Fart Quite).
