Tripod for FX Wildcat MK3 BT?

Prepping to do some small game hunting with my new Wildcat MK3 BT. I know the stock makes it a bit tricky to use with a tripod, but curious what others have done. I know they make ARCA bottle clamps, and for a bipod I would think that would work but something doesn't sit right with supporting the entire weight of the rifle by the bottle. Has anyone used any other type of clamp style tripod that could support the weight of rifle?

I've seen these, but with the way the Wildcat MK3 BT is built, there's not much to clamp on to in a traditional sense without damaging the gauge.

Why do you want a tripod with a clamp? Because it’s the “in” thing and all the cool kids use them? Which is fine but in my opinion and practice isn’t necessary. I use Primos trigger sticks in monopod, bipod and tripod configurations. They are light weight and very durable and extreme easy and fast to adjust to any shooting situation.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll take a look at those. The main reason for the initial tripod inquiry is for my dad that has mobility issues and looking to give him as much help steadying/holding the gun as possible.
Got it. If they made a tripod that was easily adjustable up and down I would maybe be interested. When hunting I typically sit and wait. A critter might be in a tree, on the ground or somewhere in between. So very quick adjustability is key for me. With a tripod with clamp or ballhead, if you want to sight in on something else you either readjust the tripod or change your body position. If you choose to alter your body position you are building on muscle instead of bone. Bone is much more stable, resulting in better accuracy.
I will say though that I really think Hog Saddles are cool as all get out and wouldn’t mind having one but it’s more meant for fixed positions like military snipers or maybe long range hunters. Lotta bulk and weight to haul around though. But at a range or backyard setup, might be nice, especially in your circumstance to accommodate a disability or mobility issue.

I’m totally new to this world and I definitely see your point. I just watched a video on the Primos tripod and I really like how fast that is to adjust. We will be hunting from a seated position as well most likely so this might be the best option. I really wasn’t loving the clamp idea as it does look bulky and heavy. On the off chance we are moving around some, the Primos tripod looks like it could be the best option. What length do you have? I’d like to be able to sit on the ground with a set as well as stand and see they have some different options.

I have the shortest monopod and bipod for sitting and the tallest tripod for stand. The tall tripod is short enough in its low position for use with a lawn chair. I use the mono and bipod with a ground seat like turkey hunters use.

Ok I’ll take a look at the bipods as well. I did see a video that showed the tripod used sitting on the ground but the legs were spread pretty wide and that may not be ideal in the terrain I’ll be in. Thanks for the guidance!
Yes, the latest generation of the tripod will allow the legs to go pretty wide so that it can get quite low to the ground. But for hunting, when sitting from a the tripod can be a pain in the butt. Needless to say you can turn the tripod into a bipod by keeping two of the lakes together, but it’s extra weight to carry around. Not a lot but some. I like to travel as light as possible.

Just discovered this attachment made by Primos that's compatible with their shooting sticks. This might be the ticket. That simple trigger pull adjustment is slick on the Primos and adding this two point attachment for when we need it would give me the best of all worlds. Not near as stable as a fully attached tripod, but given the design of the Wildcat, this would allow things to be supported well I think.

That would work well. I have a similar one made years ago, but it's not made anymore. It is a Bog Pod PSR and I have adapted it to the Primos Trigger Stick. I did not mention it because I hate when guys recommend things that cannot be purchased. There is a YT vid stilll up for the one I have. You are correct, the one you found will not be as steady as a regular tripod, but nothing I have used can adjust quicker and adapt to uneven ground better than the Primos Trigger stick. I have them in short, medium and tall height.

I also recommend the Primos trigger stix , mine is the tripod tall one and it’s my go to rest for hunting ground squirrels. I also have a Caldwell dead shot field pod. It’s much shorter and works from a sitting position. I have a bogen tripod with a clamp that I use for plinking off my porch. Much more stable than the other two but too heavy and bulky to consider for hunting.
