Umarex Trouble filling my Notos

Help please! I am new to pcp. I bought a Umarex Notos. I tried the hand pump option and decided it wasn't for me. I then bought an air compressor for air guns on Amazon. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZ7F8H8V
It seems pretty straightforward but after 35 minutes, the needle has not moved. I disconnected it, turned it on, and a little bit of air (similar to the hand pump) and a fair amount of moisture came out. Am I doing something wrong???!! As always, thanks for your help. You guys are always very helpful!

You only have to cock it when there is no air in it at all. (i.e. When pressure gage reads 0)

Reason being:

When the gun is not cocked, the hammer is being pressed against the valve (due to the excerted force of the hammer spring) and when there is NO residual pressure in the airtube, the valve rests in a tiny bit open position as a result. So if you fill the gun in that state, the air can escape through the valve into the transferport and out the barrel. (the air follows the same route as when the trigger is pressed and a shot is taken!)

If there is any residual pressure remaining in the airtube (as indicated by the pressuregage needle), the force of the airpressure inside pushes against the valve/hammer/spring and the valve is seated closed as a result. So then the air cannot escape, and when you fill the gun the pressure in the airtube will build up.

Now you know why! :cool:

This thread is the first thing I read this morning and it was very refreshing. The OPs problem was a very common and well documented issue with new PCP's. However, you all simply answered his question AND gave him/her an explanation as to why that was the case. There was no, "do a search on this site" or "Google it" or any other critical, wise cracking comments like you typically see.

Be careful of the moisture! Get a good moisture separator! Investigate it. JMHO

I have a second moisture filter on my Yong Heng that is medium in size and filled with color changing dessicant. As long as it is still orange and not black, I know there should not be any moisture in my tank. I got the filter and the dessicant from Amazon.

I also recommend a dead head. It is just a plug you can put in the line from your compressor to make sure it is building pressure. It was not the issue this time but it could be at some point. They are cheap and are a useful diagnostic tool. I got that from Amazon too.
