I have a new 1720 that I filled about 4 times then when trying to fill the gun wouldn’t accept air. My tank was at 300 bar so I had plenty of air. I filled other guns to be sure. Leaving the tank connected after 1 to 2 minutes there was a click and air started to flow and the gun filled. The next time it needed to fill. No air would ever flow. I even tried taping the air fill assembly with a rubber mallet. Called Crosman and they told me I could send it in or they could send me a air air assembly. I ask for the part. After shooting other guns yesterday I thought I would mess with the 1720. I pulled the air assembly apart and it was full of what looked like black teflon tape. The male piece that slides in the foster fitting didn’t want to come out so I hooked it to my tank and gently blew it out of the foster. I cleaned all parts and blew them offf with the shop compressor then reassembled. And attempted to fill, no air flow then after awhile there was the click of the check valve but the air flow into the 1720 was slow, it took about fifteen minutes to fill the pistol.
Now for the question. Do you think the filter looking portion of the air assembly is plugged or is the check valve still sticking? Does the plunger usually come out of the foster by hand like a slip fit?
