Snowpeak Trying to be patient. Anybody recently get a m60b in .25?

For some reason, looks like Snowpeak is having issues with production. I'm in the queue now waiting on an m60b. I always get a little spooked with the supply chain seems to collapse on an item. Is it lack of raw materials? Recently discovered quality issue? Manufacturer apathy?
Has anyone gotten a recently built m60b in .25? How did it shoot?

You should ask your supplier when they expect the next shipment. They may hesitate because they only have an idea, not a firm commitment but their guess is better than ours. Most shipments seem to be by sea and they've switched to the long way around Africa due to issues in the middle east. But the supplier will know something. I don't think makes a lot of shipments so they seem to be fairly big but when they get sold it can be months until the next delivery.

Yeah... I'm way ahead of you on that advice.

I'm only trying to find out if anyone has received a recently manufactured m60b and if they were satisfied with the product. It appears there is some limited inventory in Europe, but not so much (zero? ) in North America. Just seems odd to me that SnowPeak inventory has pretty much dried up world wide. My vendor of choice will be Wes. Hoping that the quality from SnowPeak holds. I'm trying to be both patient and not spooked.

No, SPA isn't having issues making the M60, they are focused on making the Zelos right now and the M60 has taken a back seat while they fill orders for them.

They inject a run of M60's every now and then but that's not communicated to the dealers.

The Zelos is a new release, it has much higher sales right now and with Christmas coming, the factory is in full swing making Zelos currently.

The M60 and parts will come but it's not the new kid on the block so it's going to wait a while.

I don't know SPA's manufacturing plans but I know that when I bought my first P35 from Krale I got a 25 caliber because that was all they had. That was in October of 2021. I waited impatiently until late May of 2022 for Krale to get 22s and 177s. That was before the shipments started going around Africa. I waited almost a year for a barrel for my P35-25. There are good things about SPA but getting you what you want quickly doesn't seem to be one of their strengths. Airgun Archery Fun website says late November or early December for their next shipment.

Yes, Wes says December. For grins I wrote to Snowpeak, and they confirmed.. December. I won't be waiting into January, as if there is no stock I will perhaps get a Benjamin Gunnar. It reviews pretty well, I just am trying to find out if spare seals are easy to come by for the Benjamin.

Part of the deal buying something from the far east. Takes a long time to get from there to here, and then has to sit around for a while to pass customs. It was really bad a couple years ago when we had so many port issues Stateside, container ships piled up in bays for months with product.

They will get here eventually, but I wouldnt be waiting months myself. Maybe your distributor wont charge a restock fee?

Well, Wes was kind enough to not charge me a deposit. I think he even refunded deposits for those who have been waiting since August(?). However, I have to guess that if SnowPeak isn't great at keeping their pipeline full to meet demand, I can be at risk for getting one. I'd clearly understand if Wes fulfilled his obligation to those who were in line before me and his stock got depleted before I got mine. While I understand that, I would be less understanding to Snowpeak for failing to meet overall demand.

Supply should be a steady stream, and not a dump truck twice a year. (Creds: I have worked in the semiconductor industry since '97 and we ship from Asia ourselves)

If any company tries to optimize their supply / demand curve and screws up the supply curve on the lean side, they will simply lose customers. I picked this rifle specifically for the demonstrated performance, coupled with spare part availability. I also like the idea of supporting shops somewhat locally, even though Canada is as local as I can get with this transaction :)

I've got another 30 days of patience in reserve. Then my own "supply curve" on patience starts to lean out dramatically. Fingers crossed!

They're probably busy pumping out the Zelos for Umarex right now.

Why not simply get a Zelos and a bottle/adapter?
In the end its less money, and youd have a spare air tube.

Yeah, they are very, very similar, but it mostly comes down to support. Zelos spare parts are nonexistent. If you have an issue with so much as a tiny o-ring, you have to send it back to the factory for repair. On top of this, there have been threads in which folks send their rifles back in, and they get them back being told that there is nothing wrong, and yet their guns still leak. The Zelos customer support appears to be close to non-existent for post sale support issues. I *think* that the o-ring kit that Wes sells is compatible, but have not been able to determine for sure. And the Zelos has a degas seal... should that seal fail, where do I get a new one since the m60b does not have a degas screw on the left side of the receiver?

I wrote to Zelos USA back on Oct 1, asking about spare parts. The below was their reply :

"At the moment, we do not stock any spare parts. Although they will be available in the future. If the gun needs to be repaired, it must be sent in, and it will be covered under warranty."

Although they will be available in the future? Yeah. I'm not holding my breath. And what happens if the gun fails after warranty? I have to cover the cost of shipping the gun, plus pay shop time, in order to replace a $0.50 oring? No thanks.

Plus, the Zelos is not as compact as the M60B. This is a trivial issue, but I prefer the shorter OAL of the m60b

If inventory is not available by the end of the year for the M60b, then yes. I will revisit the idea of purchasing a Zelos and deal with the lack of support. With luck I may get a reliable one. I'd prefer to buy from the guy who actually picks up the phone and who runs the shop. I'm ok paying a little bit more for a gun if I get to deal with a pro who still understands customer service. Wes gives me good confidence. Umarex USA? Not so much.

Im certain Wes in Canada is a great guy.
Im also certain that Mike, John, Justin or any of the other Umarex dealers, right here in United States are great guys too!

Both products are made in the EXACT same factory!.
Both products have the EXACT same 3 year waranty!
Both products are identical minus the barrel, shroud, and degas valve, which you wont get with the m60b!
Both use the EXACT same EXACT 50 cent 0-rings, which you are very concerned about!

The title of this thread made me think you were running out of paitence!
Yet you seem 100% determined to get it from Canada.
Good luck with your wait, and hope you get one soon.
They really are great rifles!
