Things continue to shape up here at the Tulsa Gun Club, the lanes are in great shape, we have a good system in place, the team does a great job getting the course set up, and the Heat has taken care of the mosquitos of the rainy season. Special thanks to everyone for taking down the course after the match!

We Had a great turnout for this month’s match – 15 shooters contended in Hunter, Open And WFTF classes.

It was HOT, with just touch of breeze. The cold water on the course kept us hydrated and in the stillness between shots, you could almost hear the Ticks cheering us on! We also enjoyed watermelon after the Match – Thanks to Dave Cole.

We did experience one close call after the match: The Texas invasion NEARLY conquered Oklahoma as Scotty Haslam finished just a shot back of the reigning 3 time Tulsa FT champion – Mike Atwell. 54 to 53. Thom Davies was 3rd with a strong 52. Good Shooting Guys! See scoreboard pic for equipment details.

Thank you to new shooters Michael Ashworth from Wichita and Scotty Haslam from Llano Tx for blessing us with your presence – hope you had a great time and can come back soon. Scotty has set an example for all you shooters that live closer than 8 hours away, come see us!

That Mike Atwell guy is unstoppable! He also won in OKC too! Congrats, Mike for putting the string of wins together. But all good thing must come to an end remember.
Fortunately, I only had one insect try to naw on me Saturday. With repeatedly laying down weed and grass killer followed up with pest control, I think we are getting ahead of the curve, but be advised to still continue to use repellent.
Watermelon will again be served after the August 10th match.

I had a great time at the match on Sat. This venue has definitely come a long way from when we were hacking it out of the swamps just a couple months ago. It represents a perfect balance between nature and humans. The forest gives us a great place to shoot our airguns. And the humans feed the ticks and mosquitoes once a month. We all appreciate the hard work that goes into creating and maintaining this place.
And knowing there's cold watermelon waiting when we're done just makes me a better shooter. Thanks!!

You guys are too kind with the praise. I think last month or the one before Rick Cuccio and I tied. I think he may have got me on the forced positions.
I think I did get home this month without any of your little friendlies attached. The Tulsa guys have put in a lot of work and their range keeps showing it. Now if they'd just level that mound on the standing lane.....
