Results Tulsa FT Oct 12 match report

If you missed it, you really missed it! You will have to wait until next October to get a do-over.

We had cool fall temps, wind gusting from 0-1 MPH, sunshine, and a great group of “Golfers”.

We mixed it up for a little variety this month and the LOWEST score was the winner.
The challenge was to drop every single target with the fewest shots. (Maximum 4 shots per target)
Best possible score = 30 worst = 120
Boy does the match move quick when you only have to take one shot per target!

The Top Bottom score was an incredible 31 from Rick “The shootist” Cuccio and I witnessed it myself. No, tossing pebbles at him while shooting didn’t phase him. JK
Tied for second was Thom Davies and Mark Welker with 35. Thom won the tiebreaker by dropping every target within the 4 shot limit.
6 shooters finished in the 30’s with 3 in the 40’s and the highest score was a 44, so, clearly I set the course too easy!

Special recognition goes to the Smith brothers who were paired together and we didn’t have to break up any arguments or scuffles. (Maybe they aren’t really brothers?)

The consensus was to do this again next October – Everyone enjoyed the new challenge. Next time the course will be a little harder.

Also, as Bob Benda pointed out that there was no score penalty for missing on the 4th shot (you got 4 points either way), we will score a 4th shot miss as a 5 for a max total of 150.

Thanks for all the help setting up and tearing down, and a special thanks to Dave Cole for the donuts, brownies, candy, and the 1st prize trophy.

Next month on 9 Nov. we will have a 60 shot match on 10 lanes – 3 targets per lane and NO standing or kneeling lanes. We call it the Old Timers Match, with a special prize for the oldest participant. Come join in the fun!

All shooters Hunter PCP unless noted.

Man, I can't imagine how you Okies deal with gale-force winds gusting to 1 MPH! Rough bunch'a characters, those Okies. Correction- rough bunch'a geezers.

I've always heard Earth reverses polarity north of the Red River. This match report provides further evidence.

No surprise the awards girl is in Jason mask...

And wearing a Republic Of TEXAS t-shirt. However she's obviously not Texan... since her t-shirt isn't soaking WET. 🤪 BTW, is she single? Five bucks for her phone number.

Anyone know where Dave commissioned the custom trophy, and at what cost? I'd like to commission something similar for the 2024 Republic Of Texas Extreme Field Target Championships Rifle Champion award... that assuming it's not beyond our (Bidenomics-adjusted) budget. I figure the Okie that is the reigning (2023) TEXtreme FT State Champion has a pretty fair chance of repeating. So given that possibility, I'd commission the 2024 Rifle Champion award to be carved from tomato.

But, of course, BRONZED!

Apparently the match reporter has been reading too much AirNGasman; as his report is not only very entertaining, but makes liberal use of bent humor and poetic license. He might want to consider other role models...

In all seriousness, GREAT MATCH REPORT CURTIS. And of what sounds like was one helluva fun time!

Sometimes I think you Okies are just like Texans🤠...

Only differnt! 🎃
