We couldn't have asked for better fall weather, except for the gale force winds peaking at 5-6 Mph.
On the course in the trees - barely a whisper!
We pitched another change up this month with an "Old Timers" match. What is that you say?
Well, being blessed with many "Senior" shooters among our regulars - we have a monthly chorus of
moans, groans, and occasional curse words coming from our kneeling and standing lanes.
So, in an effort to have a peaceful and serene shooting environment, we eliminated them!
But erasing the 5-8 guaranteed misses - we figured we needed to up the difficulty of the remaining lanes - Troyer 33+
while we were at it, we organized the lanes to have 3 targets per lane - 10 lanes for a 60 shot match.
(Note that this is 4 shots better than the Arlington Gun club has!) - Just Sayin'
We had a strong turnout even though some of our oldest timers couldn't make it from OKC.
With a new shooter and 2 observers this month - we expect to have 3 more enthusiastic shooters at future matches!!
Staying with the Old Timer theme, the High Overall score received a nice Old Timer Sharpfinger Skinning knife!
And to say thank you to the shooters supporting our inaugural year of matches, all participants also received an Old Timer Pocket knife.
Of special note: Dubre shot an excellent match, and Donavan Clary was our First time shooter - Welcome!
