That is the correct OEM seal but does look like its had 60 years on it....
I made my own, but putting a buffer material inside the leather, instead of ahead of it like the OEM seal, gaining a bit of a stroke. I made the nose from Silver Steel, hardened and polished for a great bearing.
My piston seal is indeed looking all its 60 years. Your homemade seal looks very impressive, no resemblance to my original. Your idea of packing a buffer under the old leather is worth a try. If it doesn't work, I guess I'll need to check into one of those PTFE ones. Thanks Steveoo.
No problem buddy.....PTFE seal is fine and will give 500 fps but order 2....they eventually take a set of the keyhole slot on their back face...takes about 5000 shots....so order 2
