Tuning Tuning question on Maverick .22 compact

Here are photos after I put the larger barrel port in 6 o'clock position. Sheered a pellet and blocked the port. Also, the smaller port is shown. I removed the set screw over the valve section and some debris also cane out. I guess I'll need to Loctite this screw back in place to make sure it is air tight? Correct?

You don't need to loctite to get anything air tight.

Any idea what that debris is? Came from around that set screw.

Looks like stripped out threads.

Could be stripped threads but I think more likely to be adhesive added to the threads. Whereas threadlocker will tend to crumble apart or roll up into little balls, epoxy and other hard-curing adhesives will flake off in little crescents like that.

Dried loctite that came out with the set screw. If the stuff is brittle, and not brass or whatever metal the set screw thread into then its just dried loctite. Need to switch this transfer port out. See the photos, top port is my original and bottom is the newer port with the newer slug designed to keep pellets or slugs from falling down into it. In the future when you get something like this stuck remove barrel to get out stuck pellet/ slug, don't try to force it- you might screw up the entire barrel.

Thanks for the pix! I did remove the barrel to get to the pellet. After I did that I still got slow speeds on the “pellet” hole. So I am wondering if there is still something still in the valve section.

I had the same issue with my compact. It was sporadic and had a SD of 7 or higher on 10 shots. So I increased the reg pressure and my fps actually dropped! The more pressure the slower it went. So I reset the two regs. Reg 1 at 130 and reg two at 105. Then with the power wheel at 7, I screwed in the HS until it was where I wanted my fps. (906) The SD tightened up and that was it. The hammer did not have enough force to overcome the pressure in the plenum and the more pressure I added the less air was escaped which reduced the fps. I hope this helps you as it was very frustrating to me trying to figure it out.

kannst du mir sagen wie tief ich regulieren kann damit ich im garten nichts kaputt mache und leise genug bin.
Beispiel Maverick compact 5,5 mm (22).?
Und lässt sich das dann schnell für die Jagd regulieren?
