Huben Tuning The Huben GK1 V3 .22

Received my GK1 from Ares Tactical this week. Great service, fast shipping. My goal for the Huben GK1 was a 13 to 18 fpe pistol with a decent shot count. The pistol has a steady decline in fps even though it is the V3 regulated version. I was hoping to get a flat shot string even if it was only one magazine. I have next week off so I plan on figuring it out. I am filling the pistol to 4k psi with the following results.

What tuning does everyone recommend for the Huben GK1 to get the optimum shot count for plinking?

From the information I've gathered none of the GK1 pistols are regulated! V3 has a couple changes to the design but not regulated. Mine will be here Tuesday in .25 cal and I believe it's the V1! I'm hoping I can get it fairly consistent for at least one mag. Remember it's a pistol and not really designed for long ranges!

That looks a very good start you have going on your's!

I find this odd because my pistol says "REGULATED" on the side. I did not bother to do any further research once I saw that. I could have purchased a really nice powder burner that is always regulated for less than the GK1. Caveat Emptor.

Edit: My pistol does NOT say "regulated". My fault. I am an idiot.

Well crap. I THOUGHT it said regulated, it does not. I have only shot the pistol once so far. Now I am not sure where I saw that the GK1 was regulated. As long as I can get one mag with a consistent POI I will be happy. My Huntsman is unregulated and I have been shooting that for six years now.

I have next week off, I plan on finding a good tune with a 13 - 16 gr pellet and the smallest deviation possible. Looking for a 12 - 16 fpe tune with a 4k fill. I also want to try filling it directly from my compressor.

Yeah I figured that was the case 😅 that's why I asked for pictures.

It's just so easy for misinformation to spread like wildfire on forums, that is why we need triple check when we post anything.

Mine is supposed to be here Tuesday in .25 though. Hopefully we get some dry weather here in Michigan this week!

I shot the GK1 briefly for the first time on Saturday at my range. Brought my tank and was filling to 4k psi. They have a nice covered setup and AC power. I plan on taking my compressor up there this week and trying the direct to pistol fill time to 4500 psi. A tank fill only takes seconds but is finite. This is my first 4500 psi PCP so old is new again.

Wow looks like a nice facility!
I ordered that new fancy compressor off eBay! Goes to 5800psi. Looks like a good pressure to run is between 300 and 320 bar! Happy shooting I'll be checking in.
