Tuxing dual cylinder amperage

Glenn1 , Centercut is on his annual walkabout in the central California mountains. No phone just trout and livin off the land. He'll be back in a week. I do know that he just encountered a problem starting his Tuxing. He suspects to many things coming on at the same time as the compressor. May have fried some electronics. He did not have time to diagnose it before he left but he was PO'ed.. Catch him next week......Nick

Hi, most new kitchen outlets are rated 20 amps, but there may be more than one outlet on the circuit. If another item is drawing current at the same time the breaker will trip. AND most 20 amp circuit breaker trip between 18 and 20 amps especially with the high start current of a compressor under load. Most other outlets in residences are 15 amp. Look closely at the face of your outlet it may be mark 15 or 20 amp. Do not!! change the breaker to a larger size unless you also upgrade the circuit wiring size. That is a good way to start a fire. One nice guy quite familiar with electrical circuit knowledge from US said that:
(Compressor problem: can not turn on the compressor firstly, and the air is quite slowly to reach 4500PSI/ after fix the air leaking) Hope can help us.

I figured if there was something else drawing power it may not have enough amps to build that much pressure so I moved it to a plug that has 30amps and it reached 4500psi without any problem.

So it was not only a leak but a power supply issue.

Here in the USA most outlets are only 15amp since they are cheaper than the 20amp outlets + the larger wire required to provide the 20amps makes them less common.
You may want to let your US friend know that 20amp 120v power supply will be needed for proper operation to save headaches.
