Two mods to the Royale 400 that are a must!

Since this is a thread of FX Royale owners… a few questions

For a pellet only shooter, is the original FX smooth twist barrel more accurate than the liner system used on the FX Crown?

Could an original FX smooth twist barrel be adapted to fit an FX Crown?

Since both Royale and Crown are both still sold by FX at a similar price point, is the Royale still a viable choice over the Crown? (Let’s take the caliber/barrel interchangeability advantage of the Crown out of the equation when answering this question).

Thanks in advance for your insights

I have had a Royale 400 for 5 years or so, longer than any rifle I own. I had a Crown for a few months and sold it. The Boss/Royale platform is simple, solid, and accurate. I think I've cleaned the barrel 3 times in 5 years. The Crown was a frustration, POI changes without a cure. Full disclosure, mine was the previous generation, so maybe the current rifle is more dependable. The Royale is a solid barrel. The Crown uses a liner, sleeve, and shroud design, IMO too many parts. If your use is strictly at the range, then maybe the Crown is a legitimate consideration, since you don't need to be concerned with whether that first shot is going where you aim. Again, my Crown experience was the previous generation, and I don't want to be unfair to the current version. But, I know that the potential for problems increases exponentially with the number of parts.
