Two way recoil?

Here is a question for the experts on this forum…

Every breakbarrel manufactured has their own name for a gas ram, nitro piston, Inert Gas Technology, etc etc… they are all using some form of it these days.
My question is, does a gas ram/nitro piston etc, have the same two way recoil that a traditional springer has? Does it bounce back after it’s gone forward?
And there for will they also require an “air rifle rated” scope?

Yes, gas rams exhibit the same type of recoil. From my limited experience, they tend to be even sharper than a spring piston.

Athlon scopes are rated for springers and you cannot beat the warrantee . UGT are also the same rated but much less money

The problem for scopes is the forward recoil. If a scope is not springer rated it won’t take the forward recoil.

You could argue that a springer has more recoil because of how the spring slightly unwinds (coarse description I know) upon release - there is always some torsion recoil, to a lesser or greater degree, with a spring powered rifle - you don't get that with a gas piston powered rifle

Yes and worse....
They do not get the torque rotation that a mainspring exhibits, but if anything can get a bit more slam and rebound..
With the ability to remove torque of mainsprings, with low. Friction thrusters, many argue that a fully tuned springer is better than the Gas ram...
in OEM spec, the Gas Ram will edge it..

Yes, They will destroy a non springer scope.
