TX200 convert to 10 meter rifle

I want a Air Arms TX200 MKIII only.I wish Air Arms made a dedicated 10 meter rifle. I know Air Arms doesn’t make a dedicated 10 meter rifle. So, is there a kit that can be dropped in new TX200 MKIII that requires ZERO modifications to gun and kit , spring ? Looking for 8-10 ft lbs or around 500-600 FPS. Heard from a guy at club who has 3 of these and said it can be done with a TbT soft kit and spring change. But I’m ask you your expertise on the Air Arms TX200 MKIII.only want this gun and if it can’t be de-tuned to a low FPS 10 meter indoor match rifle I will be on the search for another similar rifle or a new SSP rifle if there is such a gun.

To do correctly .... IMO, would require some custom internals to reduce the mass in motion ( Lighter piston ) as well a reduced Stroke.
with a 10M rifle you really want a super soft shot cycle tho still need it snappy.
Soft spring, slight destroke such as TbT tuning kit does work, but with all the piston mass still there it is not very soft in shot cycle.

A UK spec TONY LEACH kit would be my suggestion as he address's the above issues straight on !!!

* And a BIG accolades to his kits ... The USA#1 shooter & 1st place at this years World WFTF Championships .... Yes, a Tony Leach equipped TX-200 HC

Air Arms does make a dedicated 10 Meter air rifle.

If you are talking a dedicated Springer 10 Meter air rifle ...It's not only Air Arm, no one makes that anymore (that I'm aware of...maybe Chinese? ). They got taken over by single stroke pneumatic...then PCP (CO2 is in the mix somewhere in there).

The TX200 appears to be quite good from what I’ve read but I haven’t shot one yet. I was looking for a 15 meter gun and came up with a Beeman 2048A in .177. It uses two CO2 cartridges and will deliver 50 rounds on target. I think mine had the trigger polished but no other mods. It shoots tight groups at 15m so it should do equally well at 10. Well priced and a very nice gun.

What about sights for a TX200? They aren’t equipped with sights. Find a FWB300 series or FWB600 series rifle. They will have sights, correct fpe, more accurate, a better trigger, and a stock set up for 10M. I own and love the TX200. I also shoot 10M. The TX200 is not a 10M rifle. You could make it more 10M tolerant but it will never be as good as a rifle that was designed to be a 10M rifle.

This is the officail gun of the Student Air Rifle program--shot at 10 meters
Its more accurate than I am, has open sights, low power (6.5ish fpe IIRC ), inexpensive

TX200 used for 10M.
Don’t do it…
When I first rebuilt my TX200 (all 11.5 pounds of it with scope), the spring was new and not broken in.
It was shooting an RCH over 12fpe.
I would shoot an informal (standing, offhand) silhouette match.
40 shots, divided by 8 groups of five, shot in 2.5 minutes for each group.
I will tell you what-Standing while loading. Standing while cocking. Standing while Shooting gets old real quick at 11.5 pounds.
After about 50 shots (I was shooting two courses of fire that day) the spring started to break in and the fpe increased to around 14fpe.
The targets we use do not fall down as they are attached to a steel bar that can be reset from the shooting position.
The increased fpe had some of these targets rebounding back up to the un-fired location.
Yes, some of the dedicated 10m rifles are heavy.
The aforementioned FWB300 and my 10M rifle the FWB601 but, they are recoilless.
The standing while loading, cocking, shooting of the TX200 coupled with the recoil will tire you out very fast.
Again, IMHO….don’t do it.

The TX200 has no iron sights. Might want to reconsider otherwise you are ice skating uphill.

I’m thinking of making my TX200 HC an open sight hunter. The tyro stock cheek weld isn’t ideal for scopes. I was looking at this.

I believe it has female threads for 1/2 unf so this should work with an adaptor.

Thank you everyone. You all are what this website is all about , shooters helping other shooters become better at what we all love to do.
I have located a FWB 601 & 603. Gonna get to try them out and see which one I like. Probably both . Thanks again everyone for your opinions, expertise and thoughts on so many areas I didn’t even know about. You all are the BEST
