Wow! that looks like a trailer axle that the bearingThis picture was from a friend's TX200. He's on a National Field Target team. It's clear there's a lot of lead in the leade and loading port which makes it look REALLY bad. He said the pellet skirts would sit proud and get mashed. As many have suggested, he dressed it lightly with an abrasive stone.

Well, that is a good question. I have put some JSB 8.4 and 10.3 pellets through it. It was work keeping 3/8" 5 shot groups at 25yds shot from a bucket and trigger sticks. I can easily do 1/4" groups with my HW95 in the same scenario. But, this is a new gun, and a new gun to me. The HW95 has thousands of rounds through it. Also, the TX200 is slamming out the 8.4s at 900 fps. There's some dieseling and the scope adapter is creeping. So, I'll swap out a scope and mount and revisit.I have a question? Does it really matter what the leade looks like within reason. I would like to see the gun with the leade shown shot by a good shooter. Does it really suffer from an accuracy standpoint? In the centerfite game a big thing has always been made about a rough throat. My gunsmith who is a top level shooter and holds a retired National Reccord has always laughed at the obsession of throat wear. He says the accuracy comes from the other end of the barrel. After many years in the game I have come to agree with him. Always remember there is always those who want to empty your pockets pushing certian narratives. The ONLY proof is the target. Inquiring minds want to know.
As I stated, this is a new gun, not a refurbished gun.Pyramyd is the national distributor of AA.
No surprise they would have all of the "refurbs".
So are ya going to polish the leade? In the interest of testing some more, I found a different dovetail to picatinny adapter and mounted the scope. This time, no scope mount creep. I also lightened the trigger pull weight a bit. After a quick zero, I put a few 5 shot groups at 25 yards together. Again, shot from bucket and trigger sticks. The gun does prove accurate with the burred leade. For the JTS's, I only shot a few to see about where they were landing, then just held in the same aim point. Only shot I group, but they sure have potential.

Not yet. I ordered a 12 fpe spring kit as I wanted to see how this gun does before altering it or investing more time/money in it. I want to put together a Field Target rig to shoot in World class. If it does well at 12 fpe, I'll commit to further enhancements, including taking the burr downSo are ya going to polish the leade?
Surprising for Tika, I’m a Sako TRG / Tika T3 shooter myself but I guess all have issues anymore, kinda sad.Maybe you might accuracy test it first. I sure would. You can always return it or try to make it better yourself after you shoot it a bit, perhaps after discussing it with the supplier. I just went through the exact same think with a new T3Tika in .223. Ugliest lead I ever saw. I did polish the lead a bit first with Iosso then after 20 rounds that were very accurate the difference in appearance of the lead is amazing. I am glad I did not give the barrel up.
Mine loves the AA/JSB 10.3, the 8.4 not so much.Well, that is a good question. I've got a Diana Model 36(T05) that is very accurate and easy to shoot. Churns out tiny groups at 25yds and makes a solid 14fpe. That barrel is not pretty inside. It looks like a dozen tiny, angry cats were drug threw it by their tails to finish the barrel. I've never touched it, and maybe cleaned it 4 times with thousands of pellets put threw it. So to your point, proof is in the targets.
