TX200 MK 2.5

It was a glorious 40 degrees today in lower upstate NY so parked myself at the picnic table for a few hours of trigger time. Today’s guest was my .177 TX200 MK2.5. It’s a MK2 wearing a MK3 lefty stock with custom cheek riser. Tony Leach 22mm piston putting out 11.4FPE with JSB 8.44’s. 5mph left to right wind today pushed the 50 yard groups a bit but didn’t impact the 30’s so much. Not the biggest fan of .177 so this rifle does not get shot nearly enough, yet this and my .177 LGV (which is also neglected) are 2 of my most accurate rifles. Hope you enjoy

Love the custom cheek riser work. Very professional looking. Great shooting too. Do you feel like the 22mm piston setup makes an appreciable difference in shootability?

I picked up this rifle second hand. It had a custom sub 12 kit installed and the riser was already done. It was super smooth with barely any recoil. I took the 22mm set up out of a .22 and made the .177 even better. Site picture barely moves. With the light weight piston and stronger spring it’s a little more snappy, but I like that.

I like your 2.5 desination, I always liked the 1&2 models as they were not as barrel heavy. Had the mk1 for many years and like an idiot sold it when I retired from competition. Years later realized the error of my ways and tried to find another.. No such luck so I went with the mk3, great rifle, but still long for a mk1 or2…....yours has the best of both worlds, nicer stock and lighter weight barrel !!!

I know what you mean about the foreword weight. I much prefer shooting my HC over my MK3.

That’s a beautiful rig. Very nicely put together. I moved out of that weather 5 years ago and been enjoying the upper 60’s to low 70’s all week. Loved the snow when I was young. Body said enough. Love it here in the Deep South. I wish I could find one like that! Thank you for showing us this classic.

Thanks Bear. I’m not quite ready to give up my winters just yet, but the thought of 60-70 sounds really nice right now

Thought about getting away from these winters as well, but those 60/70's now become 95/100 in the summer, cant hack that heat either !!
