Air Arms TX200 MKI Maintenance and Upgrade

Hi All,
I have a quick question. I have an AA TX200 MKI and need to replace the missing seal that goes on the neck/throat of this piston. I purchased a Vortek AA TX200 Piston seal.... will that work? Thank you all for helping me out. kevin

I hit post premature ..lol

Naa.. I think it's just how it goes and all .. lots prefer vortex seals i just use arh cause I use there springs and throw the seals in one order one shipping cost ..

I think you'll be fine.

You could always call or drop them a email on that and get that info straight from the hotels mouth on gun fit ..

Overall I don't think you'll have a issue. Looks right to use . And they don't list anything else for the tx 200 as a option..

Thank you both for the information! I will try them and let you guys know. Now for another question.... are any of the pro tuning kits worth a try? Out of the box, this gun was AMAZING! NO LIE. Very accurate and powerful!!! This is why I purchased only the seal. What sort of improvements can these kits make? I don't mind investing money if the results are worth it. Thank you all again. kevin

I use only the arch for why I said but he has like 3 seals that fit one gun like my hw/R so I grab each and a couple of extra of the one I know works just to have to play with if I feel like fitting up a seal for a different tunnel result .

Never hurts to keep one extra handy just in case I butter fingers one im working on ..lol

Anyway keep us posted on how this goes on your gun ..

if you are a owner and want a seal, get a factory seal is the best maybe, because the chances that it will fit and install easily are very high
and you should be able to find one at John Knibbs and T.W.Chambers in the UK and even Protek
other outside venders are Custom Seal out of Australia people have been loving their products here and in the UK they are a new player
also there is a new seal vender in the UK called Britseal if they ship to the states is unknow
the oldest seal vender is ARH many of the seal are oversized so they need sizing, great for a tuner maybe not so great for the one-time rebuilder
and then you have Vortek, people have been loving their products but they are a new company compared to ARH and i believe they do answer their phone for help and advise
prices will be all over the place you said you got a seal in hand or on the way and i would just use it but seals are like Goldilocks porridge not too tight, not too loose , but just right

There's nothing wrong with Vortek seals. Yours should work just fine.

Any seal you buy might be a tad loose (usually Vortek, sometimes factory) or a tad tight (usually ARH, sometimes factory), but that's because of slight differences in tolerances between the compression tube and piston seal. Either way, they straighten themselves out after a tin or two of pellets.

I know many folks who buy a Vortek piston seal for a better fit and ARH spring for longer life, then they have the best of both worlds. :)(y)

I don’t know if your MK1 is the same size piston as the current TX which I have. Can’t be much different. I bought about 50 Vortek piston seals last year. Most were 26mm then 25mm and last 30mm. Crow
One difference is that the MKI doesn't seem to have a "top hat"; it also has 3 washers that i have not seen on the MKIII??? I have been VERY confused about this. I just ndon't want to mess anything up. When I took the gun down, the piston seal basically just crumbled... it was like 30 yrs old lol. The gun used to shoot like fire so i'm hoping to get her back in fighting shape. fingers crossed.

No aa guy but I think you may need to get this and go .. I don't recall as tx that did not hav a tophat and the mk1 was steel screw in coil .

Still could be replaced with nylon / synthetic aftermarket tune kit one as well

I'm sure a more educated air arms tx 200 huh will chime in with more correct info ..

There's a .177 and a .22 kits available

Complete service kit for TX200 Mk1, TX200 Mk2, TX200 HC Mk1, TX200 HC Mk2 Std Power.

(177).
