Tx200 ???

There actually is a right answer. Use it if you want too but you don't really need to most of the time. This is actually quite provable. Remove your stop pins and see (assuming a one piece mount).

Here is an example. I have 3x Cometa Fenix USC guns each putting out anywhere from 16-19ftlbs. These guns do not come with any sort of stop system whatsoever and my scope does not move. We aren't talking 50 shots here either. These guns have probably a couple thousand on them each.

Right now it has a lockdown mount with it pinned but if I move the scope any further up I will miss the last hole for the pin to go in.... that's why I was asking you guys about the pin.
Yeah thats the one downside of the lockdown mount. Its long and doesn't give you a ton of wiggle room. On my TX I use the UTG dovetail to picatinny adapter and a set of Vortex Pro rings. Works phenomenal with a ton of adjustability.

An amusing thread for sure......."it" cannot work for you because it doesn't work for me;)
I think this is one of those things that has been pushed so hard that its been taken out of context and people assume its a requirement. Same as "the artillery hold is required" and you must get a palm under the gun. In some cases these may be true but as a law? Absolutely not.

I have and mine ends up moving. I am running a Vortex Diamondback 6-24x50mm or Mueller 40x56 target scope. I have tried them both ways.

My most powerful springer is HW95 .20. She is putting out 18 fpe with the 14 gr H&N Baracudas. I have a 3-12x32 CP scope held on by BKL 30 MM two piece mounts. I have witness marks on my mounts and rifle with a silver sharpie. Has not moved yet.

I like small, low powered optics on my springers. Between the dovetail cleaning, mounts torqued and witness marks I have been lucky.

I have had one scope move on my HW77 but that was because I did not clean the dovetails. Took the scope off and used goo gone then cleaned it up with alcohol. Hasn't moved since according to the witness marks.

Perhaps a larger and heavier scope would move and stop pins would help. I have seen one of those stop holes get chewed up by a springer, I think it was a Diana or a Theoben.

You must realize the stupid factory engineer's are no match for the geniuses in the basement.
Usually, the engineers decisions are trumped by the bean couunter. Realize that the TX design has been around for a long time. If the stop pin holes were not necessary, they would have been eliminated to reduce cost. Further, I think all springers have them for good reason.

They are put in knowing some folks will use cheaper mounts..the engineers need to plan for all scenerios. My point was that a well tuned rifle and a good set of one piece mounts shouldn't need the stop pins, but feel free to use them if you want. Just because some kit was installed in a springer does not mean it is super smooth and easy on the mount/ scope combo. As mentioned many times, a tune is much more than a spring and seals. Getting the shot cycle perfect takes time and experimenting to get it right.
