Events Ultimate Field Target at Phoenix Rod and Gun Club, 09/23/2023

There will be an Ultimate Field Target night match at Phoenix Rod and Gun Club on Saturday 09/23.

Yes, this is the same type of PRGC match that has been called Xtreme Field Target as far back as 10/20/2020.

This development, (note the date) https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/announcing-the-extreme-field-target-grand-prix.1212998/ created some question on the claim to the "Xtreme or Extreme Field Target" name.

Yes, we're talking about long range/high power field target, of the flavor originally known as the yearly "American Field Target" event at EBR from about 2016 to 2020? , then monthly matches as Extreme/Xtreme Field target at PRGC AND via a renaming of "American Field Target."

And so for now, "Ultimate Field Target" at PRGC will be what we in the Southwest have come to enjoy as high power field target, out to 100 yards, up to 100fpe, slugs or pellets (or rimfire for daytime matches).

This September event will be a night match.
More details and sign up info at this link:

(link says 48 shot match but I'm told it will be a 40 shot match)

Come check out the newest course and enjoy the first match of the 2023/2024 winter season!

I'm not good at reading between the lines (it could be argued that I'm not good at reading at all). Are you saying that EBR/AOA is not letting clubs call matches "Extreme or Xtreme" Field Target unless they are part of the Grand Prix series? Or is this a preemptive name change to avoid possible conflicts in the future?

Yes, mostly.

Although Ben calling it XFT @ PRGC was preemptive, to separate it from "American Field Target" @ EBR.

But then "American Field Target" decided to change to Extreme Field Target.....much more to it than that but, yes, all kinds of barrels of monkeys worth of fun.

Huh. That's seems kind of tacky, but I guess not that surprising.
