Just heard from Ben, because he just heard from the Phoenix Rod and Gun Club officials...

The next Ultimate Field target match is on the 4th Saturday of January.

PRGC is having a big firearm pistol match that same day so we will not be having any sight-in opportunity on the 25th. How good does your rig hold zero? How much confidence do you have in it? Good thing is that we've got 7 weeks to get all the bugs worked out, dope verified, etc. Show up ready to shoot!!!

Check-in at 1245. Pre-match meeting/lane assignments at 1pm, match to follow shortly thereafter. (if you're planning on shooting, you need to be there by 1pm)

This is the new format with near, middle, far targets on each of 12 lanes. Keep it under 50fpe and you can shoot at all three targets twice, for a 72 shot match.
Rimfire and 50+fpe airguns will only shoot at middle and far targets (48shot match).
Slugs or pellets or rimfire, pick your poison.

Register on Practiscore.

The results and discussion from last months match...

UFT match Withdrawals happening..........

Ben, how about, edit "this month", doing that long range match you had mentioned last year at the 500 yard range. 22rf, slugs, and pellets out to 300Y. This on steel plates instead of UFT targets. I have some steel I could bring and maybe others provide some too. Do it using golf scoring and start at the far target, no hits within 5 shots then move to the next closest target and so on.

Just for fun to see how it goes.

Maybe I could talk that slacker Martin to come down :p

I don't know if I can shoot over a hundred yards!

We will do the best we can. The state pistol match and I heard over 200 pistol shooters. Maybe someday we will have enough shooters and volunteers that range gives us what we want and other shooter groups like we are now waiting for small window to shoot. I feel fairly confident we may, if we start at 1:30 ish get a few minutes to sight in. I apologize for this but i am doing the best I can with what I have to work with. Please the more that show today means more clout in the future.

Talked to both my boys about this match late last night after work. Oldest has a basketball game that morning so he's out. Youngest is acting interested. Initially was thinking I'd have him share the Ghost .20 with me for full Monty, but we realized he could use his 19fpe .177 and shoot the near and middle. That gun fits him much better, and he's got a lot more trigger time on it than on the Ghost.

So, that's the current plan.
Cabe (will be seven years old in a few weeks) will be shooting the .177 Veteran that we call "his" at near and middle targets. It's got a short LOP and the Midas Tac atop it is mounted for his eye relief. FX 10.34s at about 915-920.

I'll be shooting the Full Monty, using the Ghost .20/18.9gr NSA slugs with the Falcon X50 atop. Need to refine my dope a bit since the X50 on there is a new development.

That makes me happy. First, that yall are coming. Second, the event allows various options, so you can shoot the Full Monty while he is shooting the short-range part, and he can shoot with you; it is not a separate course. This just makes me go back to this is a killer format. Then you have the personal decision: pellet for early stability or slug for long-range stability. 48 shot High power long course, 48 shot low power short course, or medium 50ftlb 72 shot Full Monty. YOU DECIDE.

From Ben....

"The small bar range will be very busy and congested with pistol shooters this Saturday so what we're gonna do is we're gonna have the sign in over where you first pull in off to the left that little Air Gun bay you'll be able to zero up to 25 yards there and I'm trying to get the approval for anybody that wants to shoot 50 yards on the bull's-eye range which is right beside it."

Barbara and I are signed up. Our oldest, Daniel, is going to try his hand at it too and is signed up. Daniel is going to use our other son's 30 cal ghost that is at the house.....Ben please put Daniel and I together because it will be his first time shooting UFT.

No Problem and appreciate you all very much.

We had a great time yesterday....Cole will be coming up with the match report soon with photos and videos.....A pellet shooter had high score yesterday, shooting the Full Monty beating out the slug shooters......Who you may ask? Wait until the match report

Ok a little help.....It wasn't me :ROFLMAO:
