Results Ultimate Field Target @ PRGC-November 2024 Match Results

The distances are given. Write a dope sheet and you have everything you need…Don’t rely on plugging the info in your phone at the lane. Old school baby…pen and paper🤭

When I got involved in field target 7-8 years ago I started making dope charts on paper. Type em up, print em out, laminate em with tape, and then tape them to the gun on the same side as my cheek weld. I shortly thereafter started doing the some on my hunting rigs. Works a treat. Range, reference the dope sheet, SHOOT! Can be done very quickly.

Sometimes I get to the sight in range in Phoenix and I'll need to re-adjust my zero a click or two. Not only that sometimes my dope needs to be tweeked a little bit even though the zero is, or has been, corrected. That usually means I need to change the velocity a little in the app, or possibly the BC too, to get my numbers to line up with actual trajectory. I even use Density Altitude to help compensate for altitude change from where I live at 6700ft. I know from past times when my dope was slightly off it'd get me in trouble.

Ha, Cole was my squad mate last month and he saw how my phone got hot and my app wouldn't work so I had to restart my phone and it worked again which is a negative to using a app.

Could still print out different charts for the different velocities but I haven't - yet.

Working on getting the various struggles figured out.

I adjusted my Uragan King 25 cal down to 49 fpe yesterday to see how it'd shoot with the 29gr NSA's. Not bad but not great either, however it was 15 mph winds which might have caused the 2" of vertical at 100Y but I'd like to get it down to 1.25" vertical.
The neat thing is I could shoot the whole Full Monty without a refill, the gun is almost silent, and it's a repeater. I might just shoot it in January to see how it goes.

I couldn’t shoot without my cheat sheets😊 phones should not be allowed. JMO

The reasoning is pretty obvious. He doesn't want to use his phone, so no one should be able to use their phones.
I like to get my velocity and dope setup at sight-in with my Kestrel, then write out my dope for the targets on my dope card before the match starts. Then when I'm shooting the match I only have to check the Kestrel if the wind shifts or the shooting direction changes. I guess I could bring a briefcase with 100 different dope sheets for various velocities and wind strengths, but I'm more interested in shooting than trying to do my taxes in the woods.

Thanks Derrick for offering a free gun, oh boy! JK bro.

I have a 25 cal Uragan King that's set at 54 fpe now with 29gr NSA that I could back off a little but it isn't as precise as my HPX or my V3. I'll see if I can squeeze a little more out of it before I get serious about buying something else and I need some time to think about what all to do.
Steve, I have the .22 Uragan reserved for you bro 😎

I have to post here as I've talked to Ben last year (2024) here in Ohio I started what I called Long Range Ft match and 70-100 FPE ,we were shooting ranges 10 to 100 yds. And had one shooter travel 3 hours one way just to shoot the matches. My 25cal was down so I shot the match with a rifle that was under 20 FPE and was a 177cal and had a 6 inch diameter target with half was black and upper white and had to hit the white to knock the target over and 80yds the 177 knocked it over and another target at 70 yds with 20 + mph Cross wind I aimed 2 inches to the right and down it went and my 2 shooter was our group was totally amazed that I knocked it down !!!
I'll be calling Ben about starting the Ultimate F T match here in Ohio. If you're in Ohio, Go to Facebook at Wyandot County Airgunner/ Wyandot County Coon Hunters Association. We are in north west Ohio!!!

I will be shooting a 33 ftlb .177 (16.2)pellets this month. “FULL MONTY” here I come. Lol here is some of my tuning results. I am not done yet but it is close. The Garmin screen is from 1 fill of 250 bar shot down to 180bar. I think I can get the ES a little better. So if I can do a 72 shot match on 1 fill would be respectful for a bb gun. Lol
