The next Ultimate Field Target match will be held at Phoenix Rod and Gun Club on Saturday, 2/22/2024.

Keep an eye on PRGC's calendar for more details. https://phoenixrodandgun.org/calendar

For those unfamiliar, this is last month's match report: https://www.airgunnation.com/thread...-phoenix-rod-and-gun-club-01-25-2025.1326499/

And a video from a match a few months ago to give an idea of what we're shooting....

The Feb 22 match will be in the format of 12 lanes, 3 targets per lane: near, middle, and far. Last month my son used a 19fpe .177 to shoot the near and middle targets for a 48 shot match, out to about 60 yards. So your "regular" field target gun can be used if you'd like. Or keep it under 50fpe and shoot a full 72 shot match at targets from 10-100 yards. Or if you're running a 50-100fpe gun, shoot in the high power class at the middle and far targets, for a 48 shot match from roughly 25-100 yards. As always for Ultimate Field Target, slugs or pellets are allowed, with the only restrictions being the aforementioned fpe limits. And even sub sonic rimfires are fair game for the high power class.

The match director (Ben) wanted me to add that if you're interested in trying out a match but don't have a gun/etc you can reach out to him and he'll set you up with a loaner rig. This gives the opportunity to try out a different gun, and perhaps even a new-to-you shooting event BEFORE you buy. Not many chances to literally try before you buy. Ben can be reached at 480-694-6973.

We love to see new people come enjoy these events. Great way to enjoy a couple hours on a Saturday afternoon.

Feel free to post any questions or comments here or you can PM me as well.

Hope to see you at the February match!!!

What I will tell everybody, we did have a few ropes break during the match. All the ropes were bought 5 years ago by Ben, with his money, to get this platform up and running. If anybody shoots there or wants to help out on buying new ropes, donating a few bucks, please reach out to me, Cole or Ben. I know 2 of us gave Ben some money yesterday for ropes, but it isn't nearly enough.

I want to thank everyone for showing up and shooting. I hope all had a good time. I try to make the course fun and challenging to all skill types. I apologize for the couple of rotted ropes that broke I try very hard to stay on top of that kind of thing. I will be picking up ropes today and replacing lane #1 far target rope. I went 8 or 9 matches without a cold line:(, and my streak starts again.
