Umarex colt peacemaker

Hey guys. I'm just wondering what the quality of this gun is. I don't care about fps or even great accuracy but I do want a good looking replica. I'm hoping it will meet these requirements. #1 aftermarket wood grips available #2 fits a colt peacemaker holster so I can use the same holster for a powderburner. #3 it will last a long time without falling apart. #4 must have a metal frame and weigh at least close to the firearm. I am trying to find an airgun that matches a powder burner for sass and quick draw. I like this one but if you guys have any better ideas I'm all ears. Also I haven't ruled out airsoft so if you know of one that's good let me know. I just want something to practice Quickdraw and 3 gun cowboy action and this one looked cool.

They are metal guns (except for the grips) and have decent weight and balance. Generally pretty fun to shoot and mine have never broken. Cute how you load the BB into a 'cartridge.' I think that they all have plastic grips (at least all the ones I've seen), and it doesn't seem like putting wood grips on them would be feasible (due to how they lock in over the CO2 cartridge). Grips on the Ranger model are nicer than the standard grips as they are textured. And they will fit in your SASS leather.

Well darn. I was hoping to upgrade the plastic grips but it's not the worst disappointment ever. Thanks for answering my questions. I think they look very cool. The bb in the cartridge thing was actually a big selling point for me. I like the ace in the hole design but I wanted a legit replica of a real firearm. These fit the bill.

I believe I've seen Vernon Austin advertise grips for at least one of the western style pistols. You might check with him if you would like that to be a factor in your decision.

My concern would be #3. Does anybody know if you can change out the seal when it goes bad? That's the main issue I have with the replica guns and why I have not bought more of them.

I also like the idea of shooting these guns to supplement my practice with the powder burner versions. I have a CO 2 blow back 1911 that I use to practice defensive handgun drills and I also shoot a real 1911. When the seal went bad I was unable to change it out but fortunately the seal is in the magazine so I just purchased a new mag. I don't want to get stuck with a $100 paper weight.

I've used my Umarex along with both of my Hahn 45's to practice SASS shooting. The Umarex works just fine. Stretch a small rope between two trees and use clothes pins to attach 9" paper plates a couple of feet above ground and start shooting. All three guns fit any of my single action colt holsters. Build your own over at PA any way you desire.

I have two of the Umarex/Colt SAA's. One is the John Wayne Shootist collectable in a maple display case, numbered 333 of 600 produced. It has the 4 3/4" barrel, & is the rifled barrel .177 pellet cartridge shooter. As is my other one, the SS plated 5.5" rifled barrel that had black grips on it. I replaced them with the faux Ivory grips I antiqued myself. Ditto on The Shootist pistol. They fit the .45cal holster made for 5.5" barrel nicely. Even though the cartridges are more like .357. I got my 19th century reproduction quick draw holsters from historicalemporium.com . The concealed carry belt close to the same color from midwayusa.com . I tried to match JW's from, " The Shootist".
