Umarex Gauntlet 2 - new model

Hey, no offense to anyone that owns this gun but I just had the opportunity to hold it at my local gun store. I have to say, shouldering this thing feels like a bazooka! Seriously, it seems really big and heavy. I had thought I might be in the market for it before actually picking it up, by now I think I'll look at other options.

Like I said, I'm sure it's a great rifle and it gets great reviews so maybe it's just me.

Ugh, this weather in middle Ohio is killing me. It's been zero degrees and snowing for weeks. Reminds me of growing up in Buffalo NY!

That gun is clearly a bipod gun or bench rest gun. I definitely agree that it's hard to shoulder. I held the first guantlet and was amazed at how heavy it was. I'm sure it's a fine gun but its also not for me.

Yup, nope, that's a Gauntlet alright. The other thing is the stiffness and heaviness of the bolt action.

First Generation Gauntlet is the same, long, heavy, and stiff bolt action. Was a good first PCP, though, a regulated $300 airgun, hand-pump friendly, and very accurate. Too long and heavy for a comfortable day hunting, still enjoyable as bench shooter. In .25, mine has managed to anchor a few pests in their tracks. WM
